I've been waiting for the toyota.com build your own site to finally come up with a 2009. Now I find the only way to get any of the higher packages is to order a touring. Non-touring ends up with base and almost base. You can't get the old #5 or #6 without touring.

    I don't want touring. But I don't want a base either.

Have they simply not updated yet? I find it hard to believe they are limiting the packages this much in So. Cal. I tried for San Diego and for Barstow and I got the AF or base for non-touring and the #6 leather for touring. Three choices. That was it. There were a LOT more choices for the 2008.

    What gives?

Someone posted a copy of the 09 brochure just a day or two ago and the packages seemed to be pretty much the same as before. They may be limited in your area based on what the dealers / Toyota USA are ordering for your area. I know that in the Bay Area last year you could only get Touring #5 or #6 even though the brochure listed other touring packages......

I would post the thread with the brochure page, but I can't find it right now....

the build your prius page is tied to your zip code. if you want to see the complete list of all prius models and packages, don't tell them your zip code

Here's a link to the 2009 Prius eBrochure page:

Here's a link to the 2009 Prius eBrochure (but I don't know if it's the general or a regional brochure):

I think that at the moment the availability of the different models and option packages are extremely limited in any particular zip code.

Here in New York City, the Build Your Own site presently allows me to build only the base, strippo Standard Prius (no wheel trim rings, heated outside mirrors, cruise control, seatback pockets or tonneau cover). That's it. Nothing else. No Standard Prius with any of the option packages. No Touring period.

I think it is more a problem with the website info not being accurate yet instead of an actual limit on what options you can get. I had the same concern when i went to the website and was not able to build the touring package 5 i have been waiting since may 28th for. However the dealer called me on sep 4 saying i would have my car within 3 weeks and it is the 09 touring package 5 that i had ordered.

I picked up an 2009 Prius brochure when I picked up my 2008 prius the other day. I made a scan of the package's page. Enjoy !

The web site is still messed up -- rigormortis is right; it is tied to the zip code. If you put in different zip codes from around the country you get a different page for many of them. It was interesting just to see the difference when you put in a DC zip code vs. an LA or Seattle zip code. My zip gives me much the same thing as Boo stated for NY -- basic version, no options, no touring. Hopefully they'll fix it soon.

As of yesterday I can finally get Prius with packages, but no touring option. Options include package #2, #4, #5, and #6. All of the colors and accessories are available as well. I wonder where I have to go to be able to get the touring option? Looks like Atlanta may be my closest option.
