Anyone know of a source for bras for the Prius? I don't see that sort of thing in the Priuschat.com store. Anyone have any experience with the sort of coverings for the front of the car that can be applied at tinting shops?

I have the 3M bra on my prius and have had it on two other cars and think
it's proven to be great. It gives you protection 24/7. If you have it installed be sure to have it done by a qualified/certifed installer.

Clear bra is the way to go. Anything else is a pain.

Those clip on Vinyl jobs get all the dirt washed behind them everytime it rains. That's the last place you want dirt.
Plus, what do you do with them when you wash the car? Leave it on, and Just flush more dirt and suds behind them. Taking them off is pain, putting them back on is worse. try picking it up when it's a sopping wet mess.
After it damages your paint, you'll get sick of it and will eventually become a bundled mess in the corner of your garage.

there are 3 major bra manufacturers for the prius

    1) toyota, they stopped making bras in 2006? the 2007 i think introduced a small plastic damn underneath the front bumper ??? and toyota doesnt have clips to snap underneath here??? i am not 100 % sure about this
    2) le bra claims theie bra does not need to be removed for washing i don't believe it
    3) colgan custom, needs to be removed for washing and drying about $120, doesnt fit well because:

the prius does not have adaquete mounting points for conventional bras:

    1) underneath the hood on the left hand side towards the rear of the hood is a predrilled hole makes a great place for the s hook/bungee cord
    2) there are no other holes under the hood for any other s hooks, so the bungee cord goes lose and just sorta hangs on the metal hood rod
    3) to the sides of the front bumper/quarter panel are extreemly small little holes you can sort of jam the s-hook into, but these just loosely sort of hold the s-hook and its little strap, most of the force that keeps the bottom piece on are 3 tabs on each side that go around the front bumper

the lack of seeing your front bumper while driving prevents you from seeing if it was a bad installtion, you can't see the bra flutter because of this...

another item to mention is the spray on bra in a can!! you supposevely mask off your car with paper and tape like around the license plate and headlights, and you spray it on, wait for it to dry, then take the masking material off. gives you a fake bra look
    and allegedly protects your paint!

yeah if i had the money i would go for the 3m invisible shield bra too, expect to pay about 700.00

some places will fix minor damage on the car before putting it on, call around.

because of the lack of proper mounting points the best i could ever install thier product on the prius achieved a small section of the drivers side area that was a little loose with the rest of bra feeling tight and sturdy and with no give

I had Ventureshield applied on my Prius. It is made by 3M, but "supposed" to be better than the 3M stuff. Same price, MUCH better guarantee. Cost was about $600. I made the appt. as soon as I got the car, had the install done on Day 8. I avoided the highway until then.

I have 93K on my Prius and the clear bra was installed the day after I bought it. With the exception of some rock hits that penetrated the clear bra,the car still looks new. Without the clear bra, the front end would likely look like it had been sandblasted. All of my cars since 2004 have had clear bras to protect them. Well worth the money IMHO.

I only put the clear bra on my bumper and the front of my hood. The cost with my windows tint was less than $600.00. Maybe I got a deal, but I really didn't ask for it.
I've taken many short trips (1000 miles) with my car and do not have a mark. I would recommend the clear bra to anyone.
