I was wondering if I should get a cover for my smart key. I usually leave it my pocket all day and it knocks around and mixes with whatever I have in my pocket. Should I worry about it?

I don't. Mine bounces around in my pocket with everything else. Really the only concern is to keep it in a different pocket than your cell phone.

I have also noticed that the smart key is not so smart when it is in the same pocket as my iphone.

I have a snap rind around the belt, a quick disconnect, then the fob just touching the bottom of my pocket. If it gets lost, so am I!!!
It faces out so to set my alarm I can feel the button thru the material, I press the pant pocket!

From your package number, it looks like you have the Smart Key System. Why not push the lock button on the outside of the car? It's easier than messing with the fob. In fact you never need to touch your fob.

Good point, but the FOB sits so well in my right pocket so well its actually easier!!!

Plus it fakes out my passengers as we walk away from the car! They can't figure out how that works !!!

What I really need to start playing with is the Voice Command system....
    That should be interesting!!

You will never believe how I found a FOB cover! I looked all over and finally walked into a sports store that specialized in hiking and backpacking. They had a clothes line for campers held in a small pouch. Needless to say it was perfect fit for the Prius FOB. Just be persistent.

So THAT'S why my SmartKey has seemed to work 'intermittently'! I wondered about that.

I've seen silicone fob covers in bright colors (perfect for spotting a missing key or differentiating mine from my husband's). Comments seem pretty positive, except one that said you could not use the rubber cover if you have to insert the fob into the ignition, which I do (it's not a smart key). Has anyone tried the silicone covers, and will they work in the ignition? (I have a 2006 Prius)
