Would like to know what these codes mean. C1400 P0850 P0000
Once I cleared the codes whilist driving in cruise control mode and it shut the cruise control off without further action as soon as I say yes to clear the codes. That time I believe it was P0510. There is no noticable problem with the car except the codes above. The codes were retreived with the Scan gauge II. I have not tried to retrieve the DTC with another type of scanner. I just read that there is a difference in the codes I can read with my SG II and a DTC reader. Maybe I will have to try a scanner from Advance Auto Parts. I am willing to accept any answer to help with this.
2005 Prius, Purchased with 14,500 miles in May 2007 for $15K Currently has 29,000 miles on the clock. This car was involved in a front end collision and was repaired prior to me purchasing this vehicle. It has not had any problems over the last year and a half and I have averaged between 43-51 MPG since purchase. Many thanks for any of your answers or what I might need to do next just short of throwing my money at a Toyota Stealership. Thank you.

    Hi Dwayne,

I can't find P0850. P0851 is a problem with the Park position switch.

    I can't find C1400 or P0510. P0000 is meaningless.

Do you have any trouble lights on?

Is it possible that Scan Gauge is making up codes that do not really exist?

I only check for codes if the Check engine light comes on. Those are the codes that showed up over a period of a few weeks. Oh....one other thing. I only drive the car once every three or four weeks. I own a Suzuki, Burgman 400 scooter and it averages 55 MPG if I dog on the throttle and 59 MPG if I drive it normal. It is kinda hard to hypermile a scooter because the drive train will not release the engine(engine continues to spin) when slowing until about 15 mph. I do cut the engine at all stop lights though:) Driving the scooter keeps the miles off of my Prius and is all I really need since I am single. It has a really large trunk area...big enough for 2 full face helmets or 4-5 bags of groceries. I can get another three bags in the extra top box I mounted. Automatic, 59 MPG and large trunk space......oh yeah parking is easier also....BUT I love my Prius and am looking to find the issues from the codes before I see an actual problem.
