After seeing what 63K miles did to the front of my Audi A6, I'd like to put one of the anti-chip coverings like ClearBra on my Prius hood, bumper and mirrors. I contacted ClearBra and they're only in San Diego, no installers in the S.F. Bay Area. Does anyone know if there is another product name I should be looking for that would lead me to a local installer?

    Cheers,

    - Leo

Thanks very much for the link. I've dropped them an email; now to wait for the sticker shock. ;-)

Just a follow-up for anyone who might search out this thread. I contacted Clear Armor, and I was told they've moved to San Carlos on Brittan Avenue. It's about 15 miles north of Mountain View just off highway 101.

They have a basic package that doesn't include protection for the front bumper, which seems like a huge "why bother" to me. They then have a premium package which includes just about the whole front clip, door edges, door handle cups, and top of the rear bumper; price quoted was about $1K installed. I'd like to keep the car looking new as long as possible, but this seems like too much of an outlay for what I get from it. I can't imagine that it would enhance the resale value by that amount.

the protection is quite amazing. If you had a chance to see it, you would be impressed. It would be worth it to me. Unfortunetly i can't afford that. After traveling 101 soo much, i have chips all on the front of my car. :(

Indeed, my Audi had the same problem. I'd like to avoid it if at all possible; perhaps I should instead go for the front-end mask, assuming it gives good coverage to the bumper as well as the hood. I've seen those masks/bras cause friction scratches in other cars, so I think I'll ask about that in another thread.

I've seen it on a prius in person. it's basically invisible. It's really thick and very pliable. The prius that i saw with it looks nicer under the clear armor than my car does normally.

I'm going to have Jeremy Gomez of Invisiguard Mobile, who was recommended by another member, to come down to the South Bay from Santa Rosa to install the clear film on two of our cars. He normally charges $595 but may give you a discount if you bring him two or more cars. Perhaps you can see if another priuschat member would be interested in getting the clear film installed at the same time. His kit included hood, bumper, and mirror backs. He also has headlight/fog light protection kits. I also called ClearArmour and was turned off by the high price of the premium package whose coverage, in my opinion, was more than I needed. His phone number is 707-328-5865.

I'm picking up my Black 06 soon and needed opinions for a ClearBra shop (and tint place). I have it on my FX35 that I bought from out of state and it's great.

cleararmor(right near work) - $1195!!! then I saw the $400 off for PriusChat members? I didn't bother calling back yet since I was turned off by the initial price.

armorglove.com - the one in Santa Clara is out of business

cairo94507 from the main ClearBra thread mentioned he did it for only $400 at some place. Could you post the location of this place?

    Thanks!

Jeremy Gomez of Invisiguard Mobile did my Prius and Cairo94507 recommended him to me.

Jeremy was great and I plan on asking him to do my 06" when it arrives. I don't remember how much I paid...sorry. I'd recommend getting a group together to help save on the cost and to help Jeremy out on the driving expenses. I got the impression that he normally doesn't travel to do just one car...but he did do just mine...

One note on Clear Armour...they did an install on my Boxster and it looks great. I was quoted $1k + but you can talk them down...I ended up paying $800 with the headlight protection thrown in.
