Just as long as it's not marketed as a meeting per time zone...seems a bit odd from a marketing perspective. Easier just to say west, south, north, etc.

A Prius rally in Sturgis SD second week in Aug? You can't get a motel room within 2oo miles of Sturgis. I'll be at the Chip (that's probably the worst campground in the world but, the most fun). How do I get the car and the hog out there together. The Prius can't tow anything. Maybe tow the car with the hog. The engines have about the same hp. The Prius gets a little better gas mileage than the 750 lb. motorcycle. Go figure! Going to a car rally with a motorcycle is really out-of-place.

V-8, my idea of camping is not in a tent... more like a Motel 6 and a McDonalds in the parking lot... that's roughing it in the Andersen family

I've never slept in a tent, but I wouldn't be totally against it. I'm more of a hotel kinda girl myself.

I'd rather go in a tent from a previous experience. My dad and I stayed in a Hotel 6 or 8 or whatever you call it in Witicha, Kansas and there were ant colonies in every corner! I wouldn't sleep in that bed  and have those ants crawling all over me in my bed  . We complained :cussing: , got our money back  , and decided to sleep in the car  .

There you go! We'll sleep in our cars, thus proving what a great home the Prius would make should we become homeless!

LOL RE: drinking your pillow. I can't imagine how uncomfortable that pillow was! You should have brought a cat (or dog) with you! :)

Not a bad idea. Could fold all of the seats and crack the windows. Take an inverter to power an Aero Bed, stick in the in car, lay out the sleeping bag, grab the pillow and catch some zzzzzz's. But, wouldn't there be like 1-2 feet of head room if you put an air bed in there?

    lol.. you guys are funny.

love the beer pillow. I could do with a wine pillow myself. :)

Sleep in our cars. There's an idea. i've been tempted to do it before....

hotel with a mcdonals in the parking lot... not a bad idea.. but frankly.. unless i have someone to sleep with in clean sheets, my car does well for me. I'm used to falling asleep in a computer chair.. laying the back seats down and laying with a couple quilts under you is quite comfy. :)

Last time i traveled i stayed in our motor home... although it cost a fortune in fuel and polutes like a mother******.

The front seats do recline to an alarming degree. The headrest hits the back seat whenever I recline.

In the passenger seat of course...

Just as an FYI, if you remove the headrest the seat will fully recline and make an almost flat plane for resting or for carrying extremely long objects.

All this camping talk is fun, but we do need to decide where we are meeting so that we can decide who can and will go.

The more interesting and popular the destination, the bigger the potential turnout.

    Take care all,

    Tisza

The time zone seems reasonable as the 4 region idea. Combine those with the 1 tank idea and I think we should be able to come up with something. Perhaps we could get a Toyota rep to gives us some deeper insight into the Prius (e.g. production line, environmental concerns etc). If we're meeting at a particular location, perhaps we can have other people that are interested in the Prius attend the meet to learn more about the car and ask all the questions they want to ask and get them answered on the spot!

I know that I am a little bit late to enter this thread, but I would be interested in the Vegas option. I have been thinking about taking a trip out there anyway. Never had the opportunity to go out and see what it's all about. If it ended up coming down to a time zone thing, that would be fine too. It would just be really cool to see one LARGE gathering of Prii.

It looks like the last response (before this one) was on Mar 12. Has there been anything planned yet? If can help out with anything, please let me know.

Living in the KC area, I say "Go for it". But KC is still much more than a day drive from either coast. I'd agree with the "regional" idea, but here's my idea for cities:

    Eastern US - Nashville
    Central US - Kansas City
    Mountain West - Denver
    Far West - San Francisco.
