    Hello All,

I've been lurking on here since I bought my 2005 Prius and have found the information contained here to be indispensible. I've always wanted a way to plug my iPod directly into the stereo but can't afford the Dice or Vais. In doing some research, I discovered the Harman/Kardon Drive+Play system. With 3 ways to connect the system to an OEM stereo, I thought it would be my best choice. So I've got the system on it's way along with the wired modulator, however, I'd like to know if there is a cable available that plugs into the stereo's cd changer port and allows connection of right and left RCA plugs as this is the 3rd method of connecting the DP to OEM. I've searched the net looking for a solution but have been unable to locate anything. Maybe such a cable doesn't exist. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you all for your time,

    Pat

You will need to use the wired FM modulator with that. If your car has the aux plug in the center console, you can run a wire to that as well. Aux input adapters will cost you as much as a Dice iPod controller

Has anyone ever tried to use an adaptor (cable) with the cd changer plug on one end and RCA (right & left) female connectors on the other? I'm just trying to send the signal from the DP to the OEM stereo. Doesn't the Drive+Play act as the input adaptor?

Nobody makes a simple cable with rca adapters on one side. You would need an aux interface such as the pac-audio aux box to make this work.

I've got the drive/play - I love it. works and looks just like the ipod with the benefit of heads-up controlling.
I've got a proclip bracket on the dash above the right-side vent. I've got the screen and wireless controller mounted on the bracket. I snaked the wire down the dash, under the carpet, and into the center console (I drilled a hole in the bottom of the console for the wire). Inside the console, I plug the unit into the cig.lighter and then the audio wire into the aux-in jack.
bada-bing! perfect sound. ipod is out of sight in the console. I can control and view the screen with distraction.

i can not take any pictures of it right now...I'm waiting for h.kardon to replace it for me. The controller was acting erratically, so I sent it in for warranty repair...

ok...finally got my DP3 back and got it up and running...loving it again.
here's some picts from my installation:
Picasa Web Albums - tom - hk Dp3

the bracket is from proclipusa.com and is on the left side next to the drivers window.
the display cable goes into one of the blank punchouts, down the dash, under the floor mat and into the center console via a drilled out hole a couple inches back from the front edge - watch out for the drawer underneath, give it room to close.

lastly...I found out it works just peachy with my iphone 3g. I can browse the music no problem and it shows the artwork correctly. I checked this after applying the latest (May 2008) DP3 firmware.

Hey guys, I just got a 2005 Prius (no center console aux input) and have a Harman Kardon Drive and Play that I'm wanting to install. Reading above, can anyone confirm if the only way to install it is via the wired FM transmitter or is it possible using the cd changer plug?
