Why do car owners give free advertizing to the car dealer?

Here is my car with everything off that will easily come off. Yes, all decals can be removed easily and without harm. There's a blurb on that at the top of this page:

    Never applied to paint here.
To aid in removing stickers use a spray of de-watering fluid on the top edge, apply heat with a hair dryer gently and peal slowly from top corner applying some more spray. Don't get spray on the fabric but it won't hurt paint. Clean with more de-watering spray then wash the car and wax.

Thank You DWDean :D - Decals removed....had thought they were glued on with a strong substance, but they peeled off much easier than anticipated...Maybe because they have been on the car less than two weeks... Thank you Again for all of your great methods.... Erin

Good arguments. I've also wondered why people pay a premium to advertise labels on the OUTSIDE of their clothing. Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein are laughing all the way to the bank.

I had the dealer remove the sticker ad on my used Prius. It was free with no complaints.

If anyone does want to order custom license plate frames, I have ordered twice from Engravenet Engravenet: License Plate Frames and have been very pleased with the price and the service.

My mother took her car in for service once, it came out with a nameplate attached to the trunk...

She went into the owners office, chewed him a new one, and walked away with a new trunk lid.

Hi. On one of my customized license plate frames, I wanted to make a polite semi-political statement. The second license plate was just for fun. On my Prius, the license plate plate frame says "NiMHrod" at the top of the frame and "Batteries Included" at the bottom. I am enthusiastic about my Prius, but I know that some people may think we take ourselves too seriously.

First, let me say that I am so happy to hear that there are others like me who refuse to give free advertising to dealerships (unless they wanted to)!

I had an experience with my previous car that a dealership had put a branded license plate frame on the car after I had a service done there. I made the service manager take it off before I would pay the bill.

No free advertising for our dealer! I wouldn't mind if they put on a dealer plate frame b/c that's easy to take off and would be replaced by an adopt a greyhound or dallas stars frame anyway. They try to put a decal or badge on anywhere and I will pitch a fit. I dont' mind the other standard badges like the Toyota emblem or Prius name.

There a Honda dealership around here that has the ugliest and most annoying badges they put on cars...usually they aren't even straight. I shake my head whenever I see one and wonder why anyone would let the dealer do that to their car.
