:cheer2:For any and all skeptics out there, Adam, who wrote the comment above, is AMAZING and VERY ETHICAL....If you are in the greater Houston Area, and will drive just a tad, then Adam is "THE MAN".

When I originally started looking for my Prius about four months ago, I called every dealership around and spoke to an Internet Manager. When I spoke to Adam, the only Touring Prius he had in stock was black with gray interior.

As a realtor, who spends a large amount of time in her vehicle, I wanted a lighter color, and had a preference of the Silver Pine Mica Touring.

When no one could help me immediately purchase a Prius, I went with a local dealership who was at MSRP on the 2008's. The dealership ( not Adam's ) felt it would be a two to three month wait. Patiently waited and read Prius Chat hoping for the day I would be an owner as well.

Month Three, my local dealership let me know it could be up to another few months to receive my Prius as the allocations slowed down. I was really bummed.

Almost immediately after getting off the phone with the local dealership Adam called me, ,out of the Blue.... it had been months since we had spoken, but he had not forgotten me or my wish list. IT WAS A GOD "+" THING FOR SURE.... I am sooo glad to now know ADAM personally and consider him an accountable and trusted business man and a FRIEND...Adam is just THAT FRIENDLY and DOWN TO EARTH.

Adam let me know there was a Silver Pine Mica Touring Package 2 at the port, that could be mine in a matter of four or five days at the most.

Adam honored the 2008 MSRP pricing for me on the 2009, and added All Weather Mats at no additional charge. I was treated very fairly on my trade.... I am a numbers person and had done my homework. We worked everything out over the phone, text, and email.....Everything, before I ever hit the lot.

While we were doing this, my family was with out electric or water for 16 days, due to Ike, and my cell phone reception was intermittent. Adam texted me in detail and emailed me (blackberry) answers to my one hundred and one questions and concerns....never missing a beat and always UPBEAT.

As a 49 year old woman who has purchased four Toyota's and numerous other vehicles, I have to share that Adam will SURPASS your expectations. I WAS TREATED LIKE A QUEEN... If Adam had spare time, he could teach classes on courtesy and honesty. He is patient and kind as well.

The best way to sum it up is to say that Adam practices the Golden Rule on a DAILY BASIS....

When I was taking delivery Adam noticed something that wasnt quite right and he immediately had it addressed, and let me know that on my return trip to the dealership, that my gas tank ...hahaaaa..... bladder would be filled at no charge and offered a couple of oil changes at no charge as well.

Adam put the heavy black rubber bumper protector on my vehicle as well, as a "thank you" and at no charge to me...that was a TOTAL SURPRISE.....and was done when I came in for the quick fix and my license plates.

Adam introduced me to several of the management and admin people. EVERYONE was respectful and TREATED ME LIKE ROYALTY. Others were all treated the same way. DEALING WITH ADAM WAS LIKE DEALING WITH SOMEONE YOU HAVE KNOWN FOR YEARS. Adam is genuine and warm. Also has a lovely wife, and two youngsters that are ADORABLE.

A very special and stand up person in their SERVICE DEPARTMENT is BRUCE HOOD:cheer2:.... A gentleman with the patience of Job. Every customer I saw Bruce assist both in person and over the phone, was treated with courteous and kind mannerisms....Bruce took time to answer all questions and consistently knew the status of my vehicle, as well as others.

As a matter of fact, this dealership has a walkie talkie system, and the greeter must have called Bruce immediately when I arrived, and the next thing I knew, there was a man with an easy going smile:rolleyes:, introducing himself to me, and letting me know he was happy I was here.

AND THAT WAS AFTER I WAS SIX HOURS LATE due to being up sick the night before with the flu. Bruce:rolleyes: told me to C'mon in, when I called to apologize for not being there bright and early - with an appointment time "I" had requested.

Bruce:cheer2: simply said....Erin, you cant help not feeling good. Just head this way.

What more can you ask for?

When it was all said and done, and I went to pick up my vehicle with the few added goodies, there was a BOTTLE OF COLD WATER sitting in my drink holder waiting for me and the ride home.

IF ANY OF YOU ARE LOOKING IN THE GREATER HOUSTON AREA, :)ADAM DUNKER and :)BRUCE HOOD will EXCEED your hopes and expectations.

They also offer laptop computers, a printer, and shuttle service if there is somewhere local you would like to go while they work on your vehicle. The dealership is CLEAN all the way to the restrooms, the work areas, the sales peoples desks, and the Service Departments. The young ladies at the front desk and also very accomodating and sweet.

By the way,:cheer2: Adam, nor:cheer2: Bruce, have no idea that I am writing this. This is an unsolicited SHOUT OUT to all Prius Chat readers and members, that there are some great people at dealerships..

:cheer2:Adam will watch the port for EXACTLY WHAT YOU WANT, or keep you updated if you are open to different Packages and Levels of Prius.

ADAM:cheer2:..... YOU ROCK....... Buying my Prius from Adam was like visiting with your favorite brother, the one you love the most, the one who is a straight shooter, and lets you know you are also cared about and that you are truly part of a loving family, and that he wants you to be more than happy, ADAM WANTS YOU TO BE ECSTATIC.... and you will be.

.....THAT IS WHO :cheer2:ADAM IS DAY IN AND DAY OUT.

DEAR ADAM and BRUCE ..... Feel free to publish any or all of this in your future marketing. I love you guys, and appreiciate EVERYTHING you have both done for me.

    Hugs.... Erin;)

    THESE ARE TWO AWESOME MEN

I have to say that in feb of 2006, we ordered our Magnetic Grey Prius from O'Brien Toyota in Indianapolis. The color wasn't due to be released until May. Our car came in May 31st. We paid under sticker, got a decent amount for our trade and have always taken it to them for service. Their service department is fantastic, I see the same guy at checkin every time and he knows my name and about my other cars (he's an old car buff). I never wait very long when I make an appointment and can only say very positive things about their sales, service and warranty work.

Bottom line: Not all Toyota dealers are bad.. some are GREAT.

Ok, I can't stop thinking are you serious? I mean feel good about your car purchase but hugs to the salesman?
As for buying in another place in the state (above post by salesman)to save $100 bucks but you have a better relationship with your home dealer, come on. I tried to buy in my hometown in February this year. They wanted the no hassle price of MSRP, this is before oil went crazy. So......checked out other dealerships and happened to save $2500 bucks by buying in Vallejo, California. That is 200 miles away. I ain't buying in my hometown for the goodtime feeling I give the dealer and in hopes that one day they may give me a deal on something that is out of warranty! How about giving me the best deal they (dealership) can and then earning my business like say.... all the other local retailers have to. Just cause you are the only Toyota dealership in town doesn't mean that will get my business, cause I can travel. I am sorry, if I can't get the deal I am hoping for, I will shop around! I feel good about shopping around and I feel that I should hug myself for saving me $2500 bucks! JMHO!

I live in Tucson and bought my Toyota from a dealer in Phoenix (120 miles away). Tucson has two Toyota dealers (ruled out one due to a previous bad experience). I ordered one from the other dealer even though they required you buy an $800 paint protection package that seemed useless. I figured for $800 extra local was better. After getting my delivery date delayed twice I called dealers in Phoenix. The dealers that had them in stock charged anywhere from MSRP to MSRP + 5K. I ended up getting a Package 6 for MSRP plus free Window Tint.
I then called the local Tucson dealer and canceled my order telling him I bought one in Phoenix. My salesmen said “I don’t blame you, please think of use when you need service”. So I will use the local guy for service. It was a very interesting experience trying to buy a Prius. I think I heard every trick and cliché once I started calling around, it was quite amusing. By the way I had no trade and was paying cash.

I agree with you comments, smsprague. I'm in the market right now and live in the metro Phoenix area. I've looked into the dealers in Tucson and did not find a pretty picture there. Regarding the dealers in the Phoenix area, I've noticed they all have inventory. Most are quite good but a few are shysters. Which one did you purchase from?

I bought mine from Larry Miller Toyota in Peoria. Called them at 11:00 and got to the dealership about 2:00 and was on the road home by 3:30 with the car exactly as promised. Worked with Jason Cook. Everything was straight foward and above board. The dealers in Tucson are little deceptive.

The wait has eased up some as gas prices fall here in Connecticut. Still at MSRP. Generally found that while Toyotas are great cars, the dealers, like most, leave a lot to be desired. They give nothing away unless you are tough and tenacious and did your homework.

A 2009 package 5 with CF, carpet floor mats is MSRP $27,574 (at least 4 weeks ago it was),

so the one your speaking of must have a bunch of other goodies on board.

That OTD price is really low, $1,400 under the MSRP. That would be a screamin deal if it's what you want.

Wow, that gal is really excited about her purchase from Adam.

Toyota Sunnyvale, the JD Power's #1 dealer recently, and the most professional I dealt with .. breath .. was honoring 2008 MSRP price on a 2009, but, only if a $500 refundable deposit was placed during the 2008 model year (which ended late August/early September, I think).

Piercey Toyota in Milpitas was pretty cool about things - the salesman was even thoughtful enough to wait and see if I wanted the car run through the car wash, which I didn't. They made a few follow up phone calls, sent thank you letters. Most importantly, the car has been perfect to date, knock on wood.

:cheer2: YES... I gave Adam a hug ....Brought him a "THANK YOU" gift as well ..... for me, it was a part of "being grateful and showing gratitude" .... Saying THANK YOU....

Auto Sales and Real Estate have some common factors. We work endlessly with many people and families.

It makes my day when a client shares how much they appreciate me, not only as their realtor, but as a person, and a friend. Hearing that my efforts have truly have impacted someones life and their future, makes it all worth while.

I do believe that there are people in every industry and profession, that put themselves in their clients shoes, and make sure they have done everything possible to help them find exactly what they are looking for and for a fair price.

Adam honored the 08 pricing for my 09, but i had NOT ordered the 08 from him originally. Adam earned my business and gained a fan and a friend.

You WILL run into some very nice people, who truly care....use your discernment, and be open. Ignore the bullys and the butts, and save your business for that special person who puts your needs as a priority.

Practice Random Acts of Kindness - it is kind of like the movie: Paying it Forward.....

It is really out there....HONEST + CARING SALES PEOPLE DO EXIST

    Best Wishes... Erin:rolleyes:

A great dealer can get a bad reputation from a bad salesperson in one incident.

    It does happen

Wow! Thanks for the kudos Erin. Your experience here is what we strive for all of our customers to have when they come here. I am glad that, as a client, you could help shed the light that not all dealers are bad and you can feel comfortable doing business with the ones you like.
