I just smashed my car into a truck tire that was lying on the road.

My grill is smashed into half.

Has anyone had to fix the grill? What is the estimate for the work/parts? How hard is it to fix the grill oneself? :(

The grill and front bumper is just one big piece of plastic, isn't it? I don't think you can fix just the grill and have it look like new. On the other hand, if it's only one piece, it should be easy to fit.

My grill is smashed into two and the plastic below the gril lis also split. So, maybe I wil lhave to replace the entire bumper. This just sucks so much. Any idea how much a bumper would cost? :(

    Thanks. I'm in Maryland. B)

My first post as I just registered few minutes ago.... but was drawn to here when I saw "Prius Grill' in latest replies.

I have a '04 Prius Seaside Pearl, and... yes, I have had experience with the grill issue due to *blasted* truck tires that lay on the darn highway... (and I'm a fellow Marylander, grins). Though, this happened in VA where I work so I definitely am a commuter. :)

They are actually 3 parts, all plastic... "left grill for the left fog light; center grill; right grill for the right fog light" (all facing from inside vehicle).

I had to buy the center grill & left grill... *thinking from memory* I saw it was a clip-on of some kind with a hitch so I figured I would do it myself. Good enough, after I received the 2 parts (center grill uhh around $40 retail directly from Toyota dealership; side grill around $20) after a few days' wait while the dealership got the parts as it wasn't naturally in their "parts store", I simply popped them in just fine & they have stayed on ever since. This was close to a year ago...

Edit: I hasted in my reply that I didnt read OP very carefully... i was thinking of the black plastic grill parts.... but OP meant the 1-part car-color front bumper?? Oops, pardon to be me...

I had to replace my lower grill after my brother borrowed my car and hit a porcupine. There are 3 pieces and they came to about $120

No, you were right in assuming that it was the lower bumper with three parts. but when I talked to the dealership on the phone they had said I might need to replace the entire bumper s (obviously, trying to string me along).

I hope I can get someone to do it for just a few hundred dollars. That be awesome. :::breathes a sigh of relief:::: Thanks for sharing. :)

    Ah, thanks for answering. B)

#120 is such a relief to hear. Did you change them yourself or have someone else do it? Where did you get the parts?

My mistake. I thought you were talking about the painted and chromed ('06) grill just below the hood.

The lower grill is fairly easy to replace yourself, if you're so inclined. Look for threads about fog lights; people who have fiddled with their fog lights have also fiddled with the lower grill. Even if you don't have fog lights, the grill panels are manipulated the same.

Metrotpn, found under the Sponsors link on the left can probably sell them to you cheap.

I bought the parts from the dealer. They just clip in place. Be careful though, I already broke one of the clips off installing a block heater.

I have a 2009 #2 that I want to add foglights to. Do you know the part numbers for the Right and Left lower grills? Any after-market places sell these .. I'm not having much luck googling them.

I haven't decided if I'm going to pick up the stock lamps or not. I'm not reading good things about them. I want to get the grills and then see what I can find that fits cutouts.

Have you considered upgrading to chrome grille?

I have not. I have a silver prius, so I like the black grill.

I hit some sort of animal last night on the interstate traveling at about 80 MPH and my black grille and all of the plastic "skid plate" stuff underneath were all torn off the car. I see the estimate of $120 for the grille but has anyone had to replace all of the plastic underneath?

    Thanks!

What year? The side grilles are only $15 from this place for a 2008

2008 and 2009 are the same, right?
