I had the E010-04 modification done - including replacing the guage package. Now the Maintenance Required light is out of synchronisation coming on at 22,500 miles instead of 24,500 miles as it should have done. The dealer tells me that they know of no way to put it back in sync! Thanks to the postings on this site, I know how to turn it off but, surely, some of you brainy types out there have figured this one out. Right?

I think the only way to correct it is to do the reset procedure again when you do the next oil change, even if the light isn't lit.

(Prius techs: will that work? If you attempt to reset the oil change reminder when the reminder isn't even lit, will it actually reset the counter, or will it do nothing?)

Yes that will work. Next oil change just reset the oil change reminder light. It will reset the mileage driven calculations in the Meter ECU (inside the Combination Meter , speedo assembly if you will) so you should be back in sync. 8)

If I understand it, Canadian models don't have this feature.

Ditto. Canadian market Prius do not have the maintenance reminder light.

Hmm? Didn't know that. Guess I learned something today, :)

But maybe I don't need to know it unless I moved to Canada!

    :)

I toured Foothills Toyota today. I can't believe the Avalon Limited isn't available in Canada (XLS is our range topper). They left the smart key in the car so I could start the car and play with the goodies. Our Prius doesn't have the nav so I took the opportunity to try that out. Where's our smart key? hehe.

do you have to fill in all of the info under the maintainance menu in order for the computer to remind you to take the car in?
