    Hi Everyone,

I just thougt I'd let you know that I've been "priusized".....

I've been driving my 1997 Pontiac Trans-Am since I bought it in November of '96. Great car, I really love it (except for the gas milage!)

Although I have a sports car, I've never been the "speed" or "power" demon. I bought the car because I liked it.

Well - a buddy of mine bought a Prius and I just LOVED all the "toys" and such. I skeptacly decided to try one - I was worried that I wouldn't like the power difference.

I went to the dealer - drove it - and LOVED it. It moves just fine for me! I've ordered my 2005 prius (I'm told it'll take 2 to 3 months - a surprise since my buddy had to wait over a year!) and am anxious to get it!

Anyway - I thought you'd all like to know that the Prius has converted a Sports Car man into a Hybrid lover.

Congratulation! I'll be interested to hear what the most significant differences you find in driving the Prius (when it arrives), compared to your Trans-Am.

My prediction is that upon returning from his first long trip in his Prius Meditation Chamber he will be wearing Birkenstocks.

I am trading in my 2004 Subaru WRX STi for a Prius tonight.... That car is a monster at 0-60 in 4.7 sec stock and with an ECU update you can do it in 3.9 Seconds....

I guess I am almost as rad the GM F-Body Trade.

Well, I went from a 2000 GMC Sierra K1500 Extended Cab Sportside Z71 (Special Ordered) to a 2004 Prius. That's a radical shift, isn't it?

i had a 2002 wrx that i loved but when the 2nd gen prius came out, i said to myself that i would buy it when i was in the market for a new car....and then my car got totaled and here i am on a prius board rather than the subaru board...and totally loving it. 1000 miles and 16 gallons of gas and the toys are free

I loved the STi but it had grown impracticle as my life has changed in 2 years. I still love the car but alas like a star crossed lover I must leave it. But my wife is happy in that she was scared of the STi and it will save me $2500+ in Insurance and car payments. Repair costs are also high.

I have only driven 60 miles in my new Prius but already I love the car.

Another radical convert here! Last car was an Audi A4, previous cars included Corrado, GTI, Miata, all of which I have autocrossed/club raced.
No I don't intend to race the Prius but I sure am enjoying the car! Even thought each of the cars I listed was a fun car to drive, this is a far better commuter car than any of those cars, and that's what I use a car for. I've also notice that I'm much more relaxed when I get to my destination, an added side benefit! (I wonder if there is a real correlation between extra HP and road rage?)

Interestingly (for me anyway) my first car was a 1972 Citroen DS 21. Just as radical a car for it's time and very Prius-like in forward thinking engineering. Maybe I'm just returning to my roots.

(I moved on to racing something really fast now, 125CC shifter karts)

I traded a MINI Cooper S for my Prius. I admit, a person does get more attention in the Cooper than in the Prius. I got question everyday about it. I have only had the Prius about a week and I have had several people ask about it.

    Re-Hi all,

I'm enjoying the responses I've been getting. And thanks for the warm welcome.

Well - I didn't think that 2 to 3 months would be any big deal, but GEEEEZ - I can't get the car out of my head! It's gonna be a long 2 or 3 months while I wait for my car to be ready.

I WANT IT, I WANT IT, I WANT IT!!!!

I've already been looking into what, if any, mods I'd wanna make. The only one that I'm interested in is the XM Radio conversion - but I don't want to dis-assemble the dash. Criminy - I haven't even picked up the car yet, and I'm already considering dis-assembling the dash???

Anyone have any experience with the XM addition?

    Yoda,

Sorry to inform you there good buddy . . . but . . . the waiting is actually the easiest part.

I’ve had my 05 AM Salsa baby for six months as of last Friday, but each time I get in to drive, it still feels the same as the first day I drove it off the lot.

The car will remain firmly planted in your head - it only gets worse when it gets into your bloodstream and heart too.

I think the Prius is the Crack Cocaine of cars. You ain’t addicted yet!

    I feel for you...

Just like you, I have to wait a few months, too. So, I am keeping myself entertained by thinking about all the things I am going to do to it, researching the parts I want to add to it, etc.

Take a look at the forum entry about my wait and the sage advice provided by those that now have theirs, who had to wait even longer...

    Hey Addison,

I am also looking at what "additions" I want to make.

The device that kills the "agree" screen and lets you enter a destination (even when moving) tops my list.

I'm also interested in the XM option - but it seems that it requires taking the dash apart. I don't even have this car yet, and I'm thinking of taking the dash apart? I'm a bit leary on that.....
