Just got back from a non-local dealer and now own a Driftwood package 6. The local dealer is still whinning about the lack of cars yet the non-local (75 miles away) is getting cars and has no wait list!! Called today and then went to make a deposit on the next car in. As I arrived the truck was unloading 2 Prius. Happy day!!! pick the car up tomorrow.http://www.priuschat.com/forums/images/smiles/icon_lol.gif

I had the same kind of experience. My local dealer has no lot stock, none to test drive and continues to talk about wait times, like 2 or 3 months, which is short compared to the times I hear about in the forums.

I went to a dealer that is a little over 100 miles away and he had 3 on the lot and mine was a special order. He had no qualms about securing a special order in transit and the total wait time was about 2.5 weeks, because of the vehicle being in transit. If I had wanted I could have had a unit from lot stock the day I first called him. It was like day and night how I was treated and continue to be impressed with their service and attention to detail after the sale.

If anyone is tired of waiting and they live in the PNW please email me or PM me and I'll refer you to who I worked with.

There was a wait time on my Prius but as I was filling out the special order form, a Prius came in and was being loaded off of the truck. It was a package 5 when I was going to settle for a package 4. I couldn't wait after test driving it so I decided it was worth the extra money to go ahead and get the pckg 5. I'm glad that I didn't wait!

Prius in Houston, Texas! My test drive

Test drove a loaded 2005 Prius in Houston today (03/25/2005) at Sterling McCall Toyota, they have several (4-6) in stock. I loved the car, drives well, acceleration is not too bad (it's not a Porche) and ~55mpg is sooo cool. Gas prices are NOT going down anytime soon with summer coming up. Toyota has a winner with the Prius, one of the cars of the future. I just can't wait until I can buy a Hydrogen Prius! (No gasoline!) GM, Ford and the others better learn something!

Want a black Prius with package #5.
