Hating the JBL Stereo in 08

I just put a deposit down on a new '09 Pkg#3 at the dealer... before reading this post...
Are there any improvements in the 2009 JBL system? Or is it the same as the '08 model?

 

We received a 2009 Pkg #3 a couple of weeks ago. Other than an IPod played through the AUX which sounds pretty good, I too am very disapointed with the overall sound quality.

 

i've replaced my tweeters, adjusted everything on he EQ to be low (below center) and added a sub with a boost dial.

Some questions:
-where did you tap the signal from? Is it line level ?
-What sub did you choose?
-Where did you place the sub?
-where did you tap for the sub's power source?

i tapped into the high outputs after the JBL amp... right at the connector. I should add a loop (fill in here.. magnetic loop?) to it since it runs near a lot of electrical stuff.

I tapped in a low line converter... now.. i did something wrong because i lost a channel.. left channel subs don't work the best. i'll have to go in and fix it.

the low line goes to the amp. the sub is JL.. i have no clue of the ratings. it's in a 1 to 1.5 sq ft box... i'm thinking 1.0 because the sub sits back at the top.. oh.. it's a 10" sub.

i'm not sure what the amp is. i know it's 150watts. i thought it's jk.. .but kicker comes to mind?

I got the setup from my brother and added the low line converter myself.
