Do you ever wonder what type of sorry person would make a post like this? It took effort to create a membership, validate it, then log in and present a post clearly for the purpose of inciting the community of the forum.... effort that might have been used on something more constructive.

I think it must either be a child with nothing to do parroting what his bigoted parents are grumbling about or maybe an adult who hasn't matured beyond the age of 9 who is happy he can finally afford to put gas in his tank again. In any event, it's kind of sad that there are people like this who have nothing better to do.

Go bake cookies for the homeless or something if you're such a do-gooder, why dontcha.

Loser. There is not a vehicle, or almost any product made that does not pollute. Get over it, have fun in the Sierras with your Hummer.

    I'm OK with it!

And I congratulate Hummer for finally coming out with a vehicle that pollutes less than a Prius! When do we get to read the press release and see the pictures of this Hummer?

Im not a troll and I see some of you get real defensive about your cars.

Just admit it the prius is not the best bang for the buck.

In fact the honda civic non-hybrid is a better buy.

so what made you all get prius instead of a civic? they cost less to maintain and cost less in general.

Cant we have a fun debate without some of you getting your panites in a bunch? :mod:

Just about everybody on Planet Earth has thoroughly debunked that CNW Marketing "study." Anybody with more than a Grade 4 reading level can Google "CNW Prius Debunked" and get the true facts

Oh, for all you trollers: the "moonscape" around Sudbury, Ontario was gone by the mid 1980's. The "moonscape" was caused by INCO's irresponsible environmental policies dating back almost 100 years

Another tidbit for you trollers: nickel is used to make high strength steel and chrome. Compare the weight of a Prius, including those supposedly "bad" NiMH batteries, to the weight of a "lifted 2007 Sierra." The 2007 Sierra has about three times the nickel content as a Prius

So a full sized lifted pickup does far more damage to Sudbury, Ontario, than a Prius. Which is why GM Corp donated a bit over $1 million towards revegetation efforts. Look it the f*** up

This lie just won't go away, will it?

So, let's stick a fork in it. It's done already

Like I said, Loser. How did his pious Sierra Club whining about pollution evolve into a Civic vs. Prius debate? Short attention span, among other things!

    Hey troll I mean lifted07sierra,

Just because you may not like the car we drive or because you feel your views on whatever is right doesn't mean you need to come on here and cram your views down our throats. The Prius vs. Hummer myth has been debunked many of times now and anyone with atleast some common sense would do some research before posting something like this. Thirdly, I don't see any of us PriusChatters joining your Sierra Club or wherever you come from and tell you about the pollution your truck causes. I just love people who drive trucks when all they really need is a decent sized car. Nothing more wasteful and damaging to the environment then that. If you use your truck for work on a day to day basis this is different, thats understandable.

I'm sorry guys, I'm just getting sick of all these trolls and them adding negative thought to an otherwise very positive board.

Now please do us all a favor and take you and your big ego back where they came from.

    Josh

    Must not feed trolls... resist...

    resist...

    Aw heck:

First USE THE FREAKIN SEARCH FEATURE. This has been discussed ad-nauseum.

In a nutshell: the "study" saying that the hummer pollutes less over the life of the vehicle was total red-herring BS, but it seems to have gotten traction with a *certain* segment of the population.

Secondly, the civic VS prius argument is tired, but here's the basics: They are much different cars, the civic is a compact, the prius is a mid-size. The civic is an economy car, the prius is borderline on a luxury vehicle with features such as backup camera, leather seats, bluetooth, GPS offered.

The Prius offers significantly more cargo space, and versatility with lay-flat rear seats and a hatchback. (I get a lot of lumber/furniture in mine... even brought home a 47" TV in the box... with the hatch closed, try that in a civic).

Now the cost argument... the prius has a greater life expectancy, lower maintenance costs, and greater resale value. At current gas prices there is only a negligable advantage to the prius from a strictly financial outlook. However, I fully expect gas prices to trend upward over my ownership of the vehicle, changing the equation from a financial standpoint.

Now for both arguments, a new prius will cost more to own, and cause more pollution than a used, well-maintained civic, but I love my car. Don't knock it till you've tried it.
