Heads up, all you iPhone 3G owners out there who have been waiting for a DICE unit that was capable of integrating your iPhone with the Prius' audio system AND charging it! Next week we'll have our first shipment of updated DICE units that will have the capability to charge the iPhone 3G built-in.

The backward-compatible cable that supports the iPhone 3G in the old units won't be available until December 12th (or so I'm told by the folks at DICE).

Is the new iPhone 3G-compatible DICE unit in stock yet? The text on the product page still says that it will not charge the 3G.

According to DICE's website, their units are iPod ONLY. There is absolutely no mention of iPhone or iPhone3G support that I could find. Also, be aware that the iPhones do NOT output audio via the dock connector, so you have to use the 1/8" jack on top for audio out.

Romad, you are wrong. Iphones do ouput audio via the dock connector.

I just installed a Vais Tech Ipod on my 08 Highlander nav. Works 95% perfect with my 3G Iphone. The only thing that does not work is seeing the "folder" view (lists).

Interesting. I have a dock connector going to the connector on the rear of the Pioneer unit in my Miata. The iPods work but the iPhones don't. Oh, the iPhones don't put out stereo audio over Bluetooth either, just mono for the phone audio.

I can confirm sometech's assertion. I recently tested out a docking speaker system with my 3G iPhone and it worked perfectly. I did not connect the headphone jack, just plugged the iPhone into the dock.

Is the cable upgrade with iphone support on older dice devices available? Has anyone tested them?

I guess I better tell my circa early 2007 DICE unit and my iPhone to stop talking through the dock connector then. It's worked from the beginning except that it doesn't charge and I can't control it from my iPhone, only through the radio and steering wheel controls.

I REALLY hope that the iPhone DICE unit lets you see what playlist you are scrolling through and not just say, "play list". I also went in the same order as it shows on my iPhone and in iTunes.
