I've wanted to add HD radio to the car for some time but would like an integrated system. I tried the Dice HD system but to me it the controls were really convoluted, and I couldn't imagine using it while driving. Plus, they claimed that you had to use their add-on windshield antenna. I sent it back.
    Now I see this unit.

    Anyone use these? Any recommendations?

    Thanks

Sounds like a 'no' to me. HD radio is still a pretty new concept to most consumers so somebody's going to have to be the first in.

Ok...I know this is an ancient post...but oh well...it's the only one that speaks of this device.

I was browsing through the local in-the-process-of-slowly-dying Circuit City store early yesterday and I noticed this kit sitting on one of the shelves. It didn't have a price on it...so I grabbed it and took it to the checkout to find out how much it would be...When the young lady told me $30 flat, I told her to ring it up. I figured for that price it was worth it to give it a shot. The box said it was compatible with the Prius...so what they hay right?

I got home and had it installed within 20 minutes...easy. did the glovebox and vent removal thing to gain access to the back of the radio to plug the harness in...I ran the iPod cable to my top glovebox compartment. It worked right away...no messing around.

    My thoughts are:

    Pros:

    Super easy install
Good apparent build quality (all materials looked like they were of nice quality)
Small and easy to integrate into existing empty dash spaces
Long cord for iPod that allows for many connection possibilities
Good instruction set included (for other vehicles)
Works (sounds clean with no hum or interference that I can detect)

    Cons:

    Doesn't scroll song/album/artist information
Instructions don't quite jive with the touch screen controls on the Prius
Volume level appears lower than other radio functions
Whole interface through the SAT function is un-intuitive

    Final opinion:

I don't think I'd pay full price for it...but for the steal I got it for...it's a nice product. I do think that I'll try to go for the HDRT add-on as soon as I can find a decent price on one. Not the end-all be-all of iPod interfaces...but if you can find a cheap one...it'll do the trick.
