ok well now that I've been using the foglights more often to make sure the other drivers can see me in the snowy conditions and given that it's been colder than what we usually get in the west coast, my foglight lens have finally gave in and cracked.

Yes, I did check and felt it to make sure it wasn't because I hit an ice block while plowing the road (the Prius has way too little ground clearance). There wasn't a cracked feel on the outside so the crack must've occured from within.

It's definitely out of the bumper-to-bumper warranty so I was wondering what's my best course of action here (galaxee? help?). Will I still be able to get this covered under warranty? (I was wondering whether to use the foglights everyday back when everyone was complaining about a cracked lens and got it repaird under warranty.. oh well).

    TIA.

Same here. The driver's side cracked about a month ago. No snow on the ground, it was just cold. I'm also interested in how others have resolved this. Thanks!

They're not hard to replace. I picked one up on ebay for $50.

Both of mine are cracked. Rather than replace one weak decorative light with another weak decorative light, I was thinking it might be possible to retrofit some Halogen projectors in there.

Count me in the cracked lens group. Both of them. I just noticed them a few days ago, it definitely happened recently, as they were not cracked when I last washed the car, sometime around October.

I am quite sure it is the cold that did it - they are BOTH cracked, and there does not appear to be any chips in the glass or sign of external impact. Thankfully, the lens is still complete, so I don't THINK any water is getting inside (?).

I am also interested in knowing the best recourse in getting this fixed for a reasonable cost, as I am long off warranty (111K KM)...

    Thanks.
