Thought I'd replied to this thread earlier, but I will now. I have about 55k on my HydroEdge tires. I do not find them much noisier than OEM and for the marked improvement in grip, esp. on wet roads make them well worth it.

I paid $100/tire + $10 per tire for lifetime warranty and rotations at Sam's.
Might be fun, if I need to replace them, to go back to Integrities to see if I can get my tank MPGs higher than the 65-72mpg I consistantly get now.

How much pressure do you use in your tires?

I have about 15K on my HydroEdges. I went to the 195 width, and noticed a dramatic improvement in handling. The "vagueness" in the steering that other report was gone, and it seemed like a much heavier car, almost like a Camry. They seem very sure footed in the rain.

The noise I haven't noticed. Either I wasn't paying attention or the Dynamat + JL Audio system covers it up.

Probably has been a 1-2 MPG milage hit. I usually run 44/42.

We put the HydroEdges on Rudy about a year ago.
We live in a very rainy area, with occasional deluges, and in the winter, we get icy/snowy/sleet conditions.
I've never had a single slip with the HEs... I can plow straight through extensive puddles without much drag, and no hydroplaning.
I've driven on ice/snow/sleet, and had no issues with tire grip or handling.

Personally, I've never really noticed road noise with them. I think I dropped about 2 MPG with them, overall. It's a worthwhile trade off for the safety of driving in the kind of conditions we drive in (still cheap at twice the price!).

Mine are noisy because I had a slight rear misalignment and they
haven't recovered after fixing the alignment and a couple of
rotations since [the last one about 3 days ago]. The inner [toward
car] sides of the treads on both of them at this point are very
slightly feathered, which makes the whole right side do the
wooba-wooba noise noticeably more than the left. They may recover
over time, they may not. Of course with the pressure in the
mid-fifties they aren't going to wear very fast to make up for it.
If I take them down to like 35 PSI they do get *much* quieter,
but there's NFW I'm going to run around with them like that.
    .
Stiff and grinding, that's the only way to do it!

I have 87,000 miles on my hydroedges. I never noticed much road noise. These tires are immensely better than the OEMs. As the rated treadwear is 90,000, I'm about due for a new set. It looks like I have a good 10,000 or more left on them though. Until Michelin releases the tweel, I will be replacing them with new sets of hydroedges.

What conditons are you driving under to get such high mpg's? What tire PSI are you using? How have your experiences been with snow/ice? tia

I live in Southwest Missouri, I have a 15 mile each way commute on rolling hills with a few steep climbs/descents each way. I take side/rural roads and keep my speed below 40mph for the most part (I go faster in downhill glides).

I keep my tires at 50psi. I utilize pulse & glide and my average speed is usually 30mph.

I also have a shorter route I run several days a week, 10 miles round trip, to take my kids to school and pick them back up...speeds don't exceed 35mph and are all side roads.

So it sounds like some of you are using the hydroedge as a snow tire too? I love my hydroedge tires on water..... they took me safely through the terrible flooding we experienced in central Indiana this summer. I felt I gave them a real test, as I plowed thru stream flowing across the highway (Bad thing to do, I know. But when it's flooding north, south, east, and west and you're on the road, what do you do? You give those hydroedges a real test!) Anyway, I just re-mounted my x-ice snow tires for their 3rd and last season. I wonder if I should have just left the hydroedges on now!

I finally wore down my Michelin HyrdoEdge tires (set of 4, running 42/40) after 56,344 miles. I was very happy with them in terms of handling wet, dry, and snow.

They replaced the OEM Goodyear Integrities, which ran just 25,122 miles and, I felt, with rather poor handling.

For my third set, I'm trying the Goodyear Assurance TripleTred, sized at 195/60R15.

Did you get warranty on the HydroEdge's. I believe they are rated at 90,000 miles, right?

No warranty. But at purchase, they were rated for 85k.

How the heck did you wear them out?? Mine are still plenty meaty
after about 50,000 miles so far.

do not know. I actually drive pretty conservatively. I do mostly Massachusetts highway mileage, which are not the greatest surfaces for sure. I ran the tires year-round, with inflation at 42/40, and rotated every 6k.

COSTCO has four Michelin HydroEdge 185/65 R15 for $426 (includes $70 discount w/ 4 tires) + tax until Feb 1, 2009 installed, balanced, road- hazard, etc. Seems like a good price. Just ordered them. Should arrive at store and get installed by next wk.
Have a 2006 Prius with 42k. Purchased early Jan 2006. Three yrs now. Tires not bald but getting close. If wait until 50k, I might be able to slide the car if I push it.

Discount Tire Direct had a Michelin 'sale' this past weekend, with $70 off a set of 4 tires. They'll arrive Thursday for $378 total.

I'm going for the 195/65R-15 Hydroedges, since that size in the Goodyear TripleTreds did me OK. The life on the TT's was shorter than I liked, so I'm hoping that the Hydroedges come closer to their estimate. If I don't see an improvement, I guess I'll have to reevaluate my driving style. It's not like I often spin the tires...
