Driving back to my home I stopped at a gas station to put gas in my 2008 Prius. The gas pump was running so slow like it was pumping the last gas out of the in ground tank. I ended up putting 9.5 gals my car. The gas gauge had 3 pips on it when I put gas in it. Now after 235 miles of driving since the 9.5 gal. the gas gauge still shows full. Is something wrong or is this the first time I ever filled the tank because the gas pump was just crawly along? No warning lights or anything else seems wrong with my car.

They don't call it a "guess gauge" for nothing.
    This is normal.

is there any way to get a "really full tank"? Mine routinely gets to a flashing pip, yet takes only about 8 gallons. I struggle in winter to exceed 250 miles on a tank. I'd like to go further without filling up.

Wow, your winter mileage is pretty bad. With eight gallons I would go at least 320 miles. Do you make a lot of short trips, or sit in traffic?

As for getting more fuel into the tank, you are doing pretty well with eight gallons.

short trips, traffic's not so bad, but lots of lights, stop signs, etc. I'm at 33.5 this tank. With a few decent drives, it moves into mid-30's, even upper 30's with some longer trips, but my usual short trips are murder on mileage. Hey, my honda oddyssey only got 13 mpg last tank, and on the road it gets upper 20's normally.

I too get fewer miles per tank in the winter..but my MPG is close to the same. It just seems that I can put less fuel in the tank in cooler weather.

FYI - My winters hover in the 50s - Summers are in the 90s
