he everyone, I just got a Prius and I was wondering what you would recommend to clean the dash and protect it from UV and keep it from cracking. I used Armor All in my old car & it did the job although I didn't like the shine it left. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I use a Swiffer to dust the dash. If something gets on it that the Swiffer won't pick up I use a damp (water) lint-free cloth. Don't put Armor All on it; there have been posts about it changing the color. In fact, I have never let Armor All within 10 feet of any car I owned.

+1, Swiffer with a long folding handle and I dust the dash at red lights.

On the smooth parts use pledge, works good on body also, ( cars ) On the rough top portion a damp cloth.

Thanks guys, but what about UV protection? Is the Prius dashboard in danger of fading or cracking?

Chuck a towel over it, or better still when you park in the sun use the sun shade from the PriusChat shop!! That's what I do.

I have a Dash Cover on my dash and use the Sun Shade I won from PC a few years back. The sun shade probably won't make it another summer (foam has broken down in the middle to where the shade collapses), but the dash cover is great once you expand the solar sensor holes (silly thing is shrinking from the heat).

I'll likely invest in another of each for the 2010.

i hate cleaning the dash. the textured dash makes it really hard to remove all the lint
and sometimes cleaning it, just seems to leave the lint behind, ill try a swiffer sometime

i wonder if the dash and vents that pop out are dishwasher safe, heh

303 Aerospace Protectant is perfect for UV protection on plastic/vinyl/rubber/plexiglass/vinyl/leather. It claims 100% UV protection against fade. It's not cheap but worth it. I use it on the exterior plastic to keep the light lenses from fading/clouding too.
