The Nokia 6255 is going to be out soon. Already, it seems to me to have a good shot at putting the v710 to shame. My hope is that the 6255 is going to be no worse than previous Nokias in the way it interacts with the Prius. So, what has been people's experiences with Nokias? From reviewing past posts, it seems that the phone book generally transfers one entry at a time only, and that the connection speed and voice quality are good. Its not clear whether the Prius display will show roaming indicator, battery strength and signal strength. Anybody have anything to add?

The 6255 appears to be nearly ready to roll for Cell South. What I've heard is Alltel (my carrier of choice) will get it within a month or two later. Pursuant to an agreement between Cell South and Nokia, the CDMA monsters (Verizon and Sprint) will have to wait at least 60 days after Cell South's roll out.

I've got a Nokia 6310i which works very well. It has two drawbacks in regards to connecting with the Prius. It doesn't show the signal strength on the MFD and it will only send over one contact at a time. Other than that it works great. Connects at start-up quickly and sound quality is good. I'm hoping this Nokia comes here soon:

I really like the looks of this Nokia, but it seems like it they haven't quite worked it out yet. Perhaps if a US version is released they will have ironed out the problems.

I'm getting the 6255i for Verizon. The BT is uncrippled so we will see how it works.
