White screen of death (quick reply problem)?

    I've been running into a problem since the redesign. I don't think it's been covered elsewhere (from what I can tell) but my apologies if I missed it somewhere.

    The quick reply function seems to be behaving oddly. When I use the quick reply box and submit the post I get a blank white screen and the page gets stuck in a perpetual "loading" state. My post goes through and Firefox reports that the loading is "Done" but the page never returns to the thread. Hitting "Stop" and reloading doesn't seem to have any effect - I still end up with a blank white screen.

    Has anyone else encountered this? :(

    The full reply ("Go Advanced") works fine.

    I'm on Firefox 2.0.0.12 (I really don't want to upgrade if I can possibly help it) on CentOS 4 Linux.

    I've been having similar problems with Firefox on Ebay. Explorer works fine. Obviously, you can't use Explorer. Try another program (Safari?) and see if the same thing happens.

    Funny, I'm actually having similar problems. I thought it was just a hiccup somewhere, but since it's been replicated by other user(s) then I'll take a deeper look into it.

    Running Ubuntu 8.10 with Firefox 3.0.5. I also have the white screen, attempting to load, Firefox claims "done" when I hit Quick Reply

    Oddly enough, the Quick Reply actually did work for me. I had to hit Back to get out of the white screen, compose this reply in Advanced

    Although Firefox actually posted the reply, I did get a blank screen after I posted it. IExplorer posted the reply and it immediately appeared on line. There is something wierd going on with Firefox.

    Tried re-uploading the source javascript files to see if it was something having to do with that, but I'm still having problems.

    I have the same problem in Firefox 3.0.6 on windowsXP. The quick reply message gets posted, and then I get a white screen. Thanks for you hard work in tracking it down, Danny!

    p.s. I also noticed that the small preview in the forums doesn't seem to work for me... I click the little "+" and it changes to "-" but doesn't show me the message preview as before. :(

    Yes, it does seem the messages go through.. even though you get a white screen.... at least thats good!

    It would seem the browser hangs on an almost immediate redirect. When I stop the browser, then view source, all I see is a single line of code starting w/ span.

    I've reproduced on FF 3.0.6 under Windows and 3.0.1 under Mac OS X.

    Edit:

    After posting this message, Firefox briefly displayed the page, then jumped to white as if it was waiting for the page to load. Reload hangs the browser at the same state. Stopping, selecting the URL bar, then pressing enter will get the page to load, though at the previous post (probably due to the previous post anchor being used).

    I have this on Safari 3.2.1 on Mac OS X 10.5.6. There's a brief flicker, like it's going to expand the lead post, then the "-" appears, but without the expanded display. Clicking the "-" does nothing.

    Thanks for the bug hunting.
