I joined the club

    After my search for a new Prius in Texas, I finally found a winner. Charlie at Gene Messer Toyota in Lubbock said they had a package 6 salsa on the truck en route. It is totally loaded, more than I had planned - with leather, the vehicle shield, and the Extra Mile package A - but all told I ended up around $785 under MSRP, and he's delivering the car to me for free.

    I should have it around Tuesday! :D

    My new car is somewhere between Houston and Lubbock. Of course, I am also between Houston and Lubbock. I asked if they could just drop it off on the way, but no dice. :?

    Could you go throw down a few tacks on the highway to stop the truck? Got any firends in the highway patrol willing to do a traffic stop for you?

    Oh, look! It's Tuesday already! Hope you have your red hot salsa babe by now. We sure enjoy ours. Congrats and welcome to the club.

    The delivery driver just called - he's about 5 miles away and traffic is stationary. :cry:

    Wonder if people would get mad if he unloaded it in the middle of a traffic jam...

    I'm jealous. I'm in Temple and I've been looking like crazy for a 2004 Prius and so far everyone wants so much over what they should cost that I guess I'll be waiting till things settle down to get mine. It's nuts, cars aren't supposed to appreciate in value!

    :idea: MrWolf... get busy. Prii are available, some at MSRP, all over the USA, so if you're willing to drive/drive or fly/drive you can likely find one without too much snooping. Some dealers even list their inventory on eBay, and there are "For Sale" and "Dealer" sections in a couple of these Prius forums.

    :) You really don't have to wait... unless you need or want to, or if you have a trade-in issue.

    Why don't you get a new 2005 instead? You'll get a new car for less than than a used 2004 and you get the tax break. Also, follow what Charles said above.
