Interesting approaches by a DIYer on a 1992 Honda Civic results in 95 mpg at highway speeds.

Don't think Basjoos has ever tried to estimate the vehicle's Cd but it would be an interesting comparison to 0.26, 0.29 etc.

Actually, he did calculate drag coefficient via coast down testing (following this procedure: instructables.com/id/Measure-the-drag-coefficient-of-your-car )

He figures he dropped it from 0.31 (stock) to 0.17.

And he's still tweaking the car: latest mod is exhausting cabin ventilation into the wake, a la Aptera.

More info in his build thread, if you're interested: ecomodder.com/forum/showthread.php/aerocivic-how-drop-your-cd-0-31-0-a-290.html

    Impressive!

When I first saw the thread title, I thought this was going to be another water-for-gas scam. This guy has something to teach the car companies.

What stands out most for me is the similarity in the trailing end, between what he's done, and the Aptera, with its long tail.
