I'm excited. Do we actually know what is going to be announced? I think this has been hashed over a bunch but I know everyone is interested in pricing. G

There is definitely a driving video, but may not be the driving impressions video, since this article does not seem to be the driving impressions article.

So far, not alot being said - just some mileage figures in the 60+mpg real world.

I'm getting my raw video in a state to be sent up to YouTube. Haven't had the time (or ability) to edit them just yet. Silly Windows Movie Maker (not a real editor) doesn't handle M-JPEG in MOV format, so using iMovie to splice my driving session. I'll have to put music over my dad's driving as he jabbered on too much about personal things vs. the car - ha ha! Will also have a 2:40 clip of the IPA demo.

Between that and collecting notes, I'll have a few things for tomorrow, but not anything at a professional level.

Not sure if this is the right spot to post this but have wondered for some time now, On some cars you can fold the back of the front passenger seat forward, and it lays flat. I've seen this on some cars and it is a nice feature. Does anyone know for sure, if the passenger seat on the new 2010 Prius folds flat? Thanks, Rick

Yes it does. You can still fit 10 ft. lumber inside.

The Prius' chief engineer, Akihiko Otsuka, drove a 33-mile route in and around Napa and averaged 62.9 mpg. During the drive week, he levied a Beat-The-Chief challenge to anyone who wanted to take him on. AutoblogGreen was able to get the in-dash display to read in the mid- to low-70s for most of the route, but the last ten miles on a busy 55-mph road dropped that to 64.5 mpg. Not bad, but only good for a standing near the absolute bottom of the rankings among other journalists. Overall, the best score was 94.6 mpg, although that involved some less-than-real-world driving behaviors and conditions. The best "honest" score was 75.3 mpg. In all, about half of the journalists were able to get over 70 mpg, while the rest, save two, were able to get more than 66 mpg.

Journalists, writers, reporters and peoples driving impressions about the car as well as their observed fuel economy.

It was great to read everyone's impressions both here and in blogs/websites but I still would love to see Toyota release pricing. I understand as mentioned they still have the problem of clearing existing inventory but with the advent of the Insight and what now looks to be the Fusion hitting dealer showrooms I hope they may move their timetables up a bit. Well for that reason and perhaps we'll get our cars a little earlier thn perhaps anticipated! lol Hey, one can dream...

Hi there! I thought you might like to check out a few more Prius reviews. You can find a compilation here: Pressroom : In the News / Toyota

There's also a link to a video of Toyota Group Vice President & General Manager Bob Carter talking about the Prius on CNBC on the front page of the newsroom (Pressroom : Toyota USA Newsroom / Toyota).

    Hope you enjoy!

Hi Sacha, welcome and thanks for posting the links which consolidate all the reviews.

I was shocked and glad to hear on the cnbc report that they said cars will be hitting showrooms in mid April! So I guess that line off date of April we all have been talking about may be getting bumped up a bit? :) Next to haering pricing this has made my day. Now I can hope I'll have a new toy to play with during my end of April vacation.

Maybe it's just me but this was a very disappointing "big day". I see nothing but a rehash from reviewers of stuff that everyone already knew. Everyone referred to the Honda as a lower cost competitor. There was no info on when the new prius will be available, no info on what the prices are going to be. I need a car in May and I was leaning strongly toward the new prius but frankly I'm feeling jerked around. I'm not going to order a car for an unknown price. I'm not going to wait for another month to find out that the prius is available in June or July or whenever. A year ago when oil prices were through the roof and there was no other competition you could get away with playing games with your potential customers. Today, I don't have the patience for playing games with Toyota.

It's March 25th. If you can't tell us the price or availability then at least tell us when you will tell us. Otherwise I'm gone.
