I would be up for a set of springs for the '08 Touring. About the same price point?

OK, so just to clarify, these spring would lower the Prius about 1" and the handling of the Touring would be improved - or is it only the lowered ride benefit?

And the total cost for the springs installed would run how much?

Thanks in advance for any answer you can provide --- I work near Miramar & the 15.

Yes these would lower the Prius touring 1" and improve the handling because of the higher spring rates. The price would be the same $299 MSRP.:)

What's the recommended 'shock/strut' to go with the B&G springs (other than OEM)?
The dampening rate of the stock strut maybe too soft for these harden springs?

Any aftermarket shock/strut will work fine with our springs as they were designed using factory measurements.

I think the question was not whether or not they'd fit, but what shock/strut would work best with the higher spring rate of your S2 springs.

Well its hard to answer the question without a bias.. we like to leave that up to the customers preference.. for me personally I like our springs with either Koni or Bilstein shocks if we do not offer our own for the application.

Well, I think the real problem is sourcing performance oriented shocks/struts for the Prius. I don't know that any exist!

    Isn't TRD the only one?

Interesting concepts. I really want to improve the handling on my 04.

    1) What about the very reasonably priced KYB shocks & struts? http://tinyurl.com/c38l5t 2) Has anyone tried these? 3) Will these be a good combination with the S2 springs being discussed here? 4) I drive in normal towns and hit my chin spoiler about once a month. I'm suprised no one else mentions this. I hesitate to make the Prius 1" lower because of this. Do others hit and will this hurt the car. I feel like I might take the whole spoiler off sometimes when it hits hard. I have Micheline harmony at 40 psi F and 38R.

From what I've read here I'd like to get the KYBs and S2 spring kit but with normal ride height. There is a new kit that has the Toyota shocks, swaybar and springs that come on the 'Touring' < http://tinyurl.com/ddwxpr > "Touring Package suspension kit improve Prius ride quality and handling " but I hesitate to get anything 'stock.' 5) What about a sway bar to go with the KYBs and the B&G S2 Sports Springs? It seems like this might be the 'Ultimate Package!!"

    Suspension Improvements

There are quite a few suspension improvements you can make, including the following (vendors are in parens; other vendors may sell them also):

    1. Touring Edition front stabilizer/sway bar, rear stabilizer/sway bar, rear shocks, rear springs (Sigma and Toyota Parts places sell them).

Note that the Touring Edition's front struts and springs are the same as those on the 2006-2009 Standard Prius.

Note that the Touring Edition front stabilizer/sway bar is the only one that you can get now that's beefier than the one on your Standard Prius.

    2. BT Tech front strut tower brace and rear stiffening plate (buy these at the PriusChat Store).

    3. TRD Sportivo shocks and springs (Sigma and Toyota Parts places sell them).

    4. Tom's braces - front strut tower brace, front lower suspension brace, lower body brace, floor strengthening brace (Sigma sells them).

    5. Hotchkis, TRD and Progressive make beefed up rear stabilizer/sway bars for certain model years of the Corolla/Matrix/Vibe that will fit on the Prius (google search).

    6. B&G, Blitz and other brands lowering and performance springs (Sigma sells them).

Here's a link to Sigma Automotive Prius page -- scroll down to the end for performance suspension parts for the Prius:

Sigma Automotive – Toyota Hybrid Prius 2004 - 2009 OEM & JDM auto accessories

Almost all of these suspension parts have been discussed on PriusChat. Use the search function to find relevant posts and threads.

I'll have to put this in my notes... something I'd like to eventually do to the car, but won't happen any time soon.

    Looks like a great product!
