What's the bar spanning the top of the rear suspension attached to both ends with two nuts/bolts? It's hard to tell from the picture, but it appears it could be a torsion bar?

If the torsion bar has been eliminated and it's stiffness instead integrated into the beam, it has the benefit of reducing the part count (cheaper), but the drawback of not being able to tune the roll stiffness of the car.

For example, they a stiffer torsion bar on the Touring model then standard model to reduce body roll.

Looking at the builds and options, i think it kinda sux that we can't have the foglights and 17" wheels (build 1229) WITH the sunroof package (avail. only on builds 1225 and 1227). I've read it's because of weight considerations or something...but i'd gladly give up SOME efficiency for the ability to have both the better wheels and foglights AND the sunroof!

This has been brought to their (Toyota's) attention numerous times by me and many others on here but for now it will not change anything... It's just something we'll have to live it unfortunately. I just hope they dont change their mind mid year or next year and those of us faithfuls who jumped on board early get screwed. But there are so many other features to enjoy, let's look on the bright side. :) So much other fun tech on the Prius V!

Yeah, i have a feeling they will mix up their package offerings a couple model years into the new cycle like they did with the current gen.

Regardless, you're right, there's still a host of fun new things on the new model to look forward to!

why is the Solar Sunroof package NOT available on the 1220 build??? I want the LED headlights and foglamps! Is there a good reason?!?

"Solar roof Package (available in model 1225 and 1227) – includes all contents in the Navigation Package, a powered tilt/slide moonroof with solar powered ventilation system and remote air-conditioning system"

Because they didn't make it available. This has all ben discussed before in numerous previous posts Chris. Read around the site and you'll find a wealth of discussion about the 2010 and package information. There are many others who feel the same way and opinions have been expressed. Those opinions are noticed and taken into account by Toyota so maybe in the future we'll see more package options available. :)

Paradox's answer x2. They're not going to make everyone happy. That's what a Rolls-Royce is for (custom built to your specification or choose the Park Mulliner for more exclusivity).
