    Date Ordered: Feb 19, 2005
    Dealer Order From: Peruzzi Toyota
    Time Estimate: 2-3 months
    Color: Silver
    Option: #5 (AI)
    # on Waiting List: Not known

After 2 months the sales rep called to say that our car was in route and should be here in 5-10 days. We got excited. After 10 days I called and while the car was not yet in, I did get the VIN number. More excitement.

Called today, expecting to figure out when to pick up the car only to be told "It was sold. The transport dropped it off at another dealer and they sold it." Now we working through the grief process - denial, anger etc. They didn't even offer to look for another car until I asked them what they were going to do now.

Needless to say, we are now working with a couple other dealers. More waiting.

Ouch! Sorry to read your story. You have every right to be upset. My sympathies.
If anything could make you feel better, my wife and I have waited 11 months and 15 days for our Prius and we pick it up in about 2 hours. Yes, it was a long time, at times excruciating, but as other owners say - "It's worth the wait".

My hope for you is that your Prius will come soon and it will truly exceed your expectations.

    Best wishes,
    Bob and Tonie

So today the dealer that "lost" the Silver AI called (Peruzzi) and wanted to know what I wanted to do. I told them that I was going to go out and try to find a car on my own and whoever got one first wins. Their response was that it sounded like I was not going to be happy buying a car from them. I said to put yourself in my shoes - you have the car one day and the next day you don't. But it wasn't their fault and they could not do anything more than try and find another one and didn't really want to compete with other dealers was their response. No problem, I replied, send my deposit to me.

I have given up on getting an AI (#5) and will go with an AM (#4) and have 2 dealers working with me. One says he will have one by the weekend and the other says by the end of May. Whichever one gets here first gets the deal.

Still waiting - but not for Peruzzi Toyota!!

Of Couse it's there fault!! Cars just don't go to the wrong dealer. The window sticker, if nothing else, says who the car is shipped to! Our local dealer had a silver pg# 2 in stock and I saw that the dealer in hazelton had a Silver one also with pkg#4 I believe, call around or search on the web, you'' find one.

The wait is over - we picked up our 2005 Prius, Silver AM package, last night. A local dealer, Champion Toyota, was able to find one in less than a week and it was $1,000 under MSRP. We are excited and looking forward to many good miles together. Soi far it has been great.
