Well at least she was smart enough to stop the flow of gas before she pulled the nozzle out of the fill port!!!

Well, if it could reaaaaaaaaallllly stretch, it might fit.

But I'm positive the sweater would look better on her. My vestigal mammary glands are nowhere near that big.

Not to mention they're hairy too. Maybe I should shave them or something ....

When my GF asks me for my opinion on a piece of women's clothing, I usually reply that it won't fit me. :D

Good answer! Or bad, depending on *how* you answer.

Never, EVER say to a gf who is shopping for jeans "wow, would my butt ever look tiny in THOSE things!"

It usually comes out bad no matter how I answer, but I'm used to it now. My GF is the master of "You just can't winâ„¢".

    Answer above. :D

You really need to attend to the nozzle during the entire fill-up. Not just in the Prius, but in every car.

I've also had more luck going full tilt with the gas pump. After it clicks off once, I fill slower and wait for the next click. Then, I'm done.

And, that is the reason that several states (NY is one) require "self-service" pumps to disconnect the latching mechanism - forcing the customer to "stay with the filler when refueling."

I fill at a medium speed, keeping in mind how small some of the
passages in the fuel system are. The auto-shutoff system needs
a little back-pressure to work, and slow fill lets things leak
enough that the requisite pressure may not form.
    .
I have had a couple of instances where I felt the pump-handle
release *starting* to go, about to pop. Usually it does so
successfully. The one time I felt that and thought it was a
false alarm and kept trying to push afterward was one of the
two or so times I've come close to overfilling/spilling --
it gave me fair warning, even if it couldn't actually release
fully. The other time when I actually *did* spill a little
was from a nozzle that was just plain borked. That was at
a Sunoco, which is on the "five year boycott plan" by now.

It's fairly easy to make cell phones drop connections, but jammers like that are illegal in the U.S. I have been tempted, but so far have resisted. What a hoot it would be when you have some rude cell phone zombie carrying on a loud conversation in your favorite coffee shop: <click> "Hello, hello? Damn phones", redials, "Hi there, must of lost the..." <click> "hello? HELLO? Damn cell phones..." Rude caller goes outside to seek a better signal.

Strafing runs would be a lot of fun in the Prius too: pull up to a light surrounded by drivers more interested in talking on their cell phones than driving and <click>, "hello? hello..." :D

Okay - I have owned my '08 Prius for over a year now and my main problem has been actually getting the fuel tank to take gas...it likes to click the pump off prematurely. I seem to be able to get fuel into the tank if I don't put the pump nozzle in say more than 3/4 of the way in, fill her up slowly and then it fills up just fine. However, today was a little different. I filled up at a different station. I was down to 1 bar...never usually let it run down that low. Anyway, before I know it gas is spewing out everywhere, yeah the tank was full...way overfill. The gauge said I pumped in 10.43 gallons (remember I had 1 bar showing), who knows how much went on the ground and me! Anyway, after informing the attendent about the spill, I drove home, washed my car and decided to check out the website. I don't know whether to be worried or not. Seems like I might be going on a long trip tomorrow??? I am a little worried, my garage smells mildly of gasoline. I opened the gas cap and while there is no gas showing in the opening if I stick my finger in the filler thing it comes out wet. Should I be concerned about damage? Thanks for any help in advance.

I would follow Patrick Wong's advice:

    Good luck!

It would be *very* fun if you kept track of the ESN/MIN, followed them around, and <click> at random times. Just to make them think somebody was out to get them

Of course, I would *never* use a sophisticated VSA for such a sinister purpose

That would be nasty. Fun, but evil.

The thing about it is that cell phones are so unreliable that the poor victim would walk around complaining about his crappy cell phone, never realizing that someone was out to get him.

I was waiting Tuesday in a line at the Post Office (there is always a line) and some young girl behind me was talking loudly on a Bluetooth headset. My reflex to turn and make sure it wasn't a crazy person got the better of me because I looked at her momentarily. She went on to tell the person on the line that "some people aren't liking me using my phone", but that didn't stop her from carrying on her inane conversation for the next few minutes.

I could have used a cell phone jammer last Tuesday.

Jamming wouldn't give the level of satisfaction I'm after. Since I'm forced to listen to the inane jabber of someone with nothing better to do than to blather on endlessly and loudly in a public place about nothing of real importance, I really would prefer the satisfaction of delivering an electric shock that would leave them semi-incapacitated for a few minutes...and more importantly, leave them wanting nothing to do with the headset or cell phone ever again.

I understand, but since jamming is illegal, I'm pretty sure that administering painful electric shocks would also be illegal as well. It would be interesting to see if a jury would convict you though.

Death Ray. I really need to get back to work on that prototype.
