I tend to lean on the seat back and headrest while driving and find the back of my head hurts after bumping/rubbing on the headrest (tires at 42/40 and the road is bumpy around here). Anyone with the same experience? Any suggestion for a good thin pillow/cushion? Thanks!

I haven't found that to be a problem yet. In fact, I kind of like the Prius headrest. Unlike other cars that I've driven, it doesn't "force my chin into my chest" too much.

I've never really understood why some headrests are designed that way. It seems like the kind that are pitched way forward at the top could only be comfortable if I had the seat leaned back at a considerable angle, but still wanted my head to be upright. Otherwise, why force someone's head down when their back is firmly planted against the seat?

Anyway, I hope that you have success finding a suitable cushion.

    Best wishes,

Try lowering your tire pressure a couple of pounds.

Wouldn't you want a nice firm headrest so that in case of a rear collision, your head will be supported firmly, thereby reducing whiplash?

what it does is give you a big headache from hitting it. I know cause I got rear-ended. One thing I tried but didn't keep is one of those dogbone shaped small pillows in the space between the bottom of the headrest and the top of the seat. it supports the lower neck. I didn't keep it though cause the one I got didn't stay in place well. Am looking for a better one.

As you probably know, they are not meant to rest your head on, but as a protection against whiplash. Soft headrest are nice, but not good.

Theyre only any good against whiplash if your head is already touching it.
Is it Saab that have a system that explodes the headrest forward on rear impact?
