I'm used to cruise control on previous non Prius cars, but on my Prius, i can't seem to get resume to work........is it me, is it not working right and I need to get it looked at, or is it how it is supposed to work? I can only get it to work if I slow down just a bit (maybe 5 mph) and then push the lever up

    Pulling back is Cancel.

The Resume function won't work if you drop below 25mph / 40kph or drop 10mph / 16kph below the preset speed.

Yes, I believe you can drop below 10MPH from preset and resume. I've resumed just at 25 or so MPH when preset was 45 or better. it seemed like it wasn't working, as CC takes a few seconds to decide on its attack of acceleration to preset speed.

I believe what you are thinking is that CC will cancel if the actual vehicle speed drops below 10MPH from where it thinks it should be. In other words, it is trying to maintain 45, but stuck brakes cause the car to slow to 33MPH, CC will disengage.

There are several different 'designs'. The Prius works exactly the same as my wife's Subaru. My prior vehicle ('95 Odyssey) would allow CC at 25 and over and NEVER dropped the preset unless you turned the car off or turned off the master switch. I much preferred that design. But for actual FUNCTION I prefer the Prius CC, it engages very predictably and a single bump up or down will give you exactly a 1 MPH change.

Just in case, I did confirm that you can resume if your current speed is more than 10MPH from preset. I was able to resume to 45MPH after dropping down to 30MPH.
