My daughter bumped into an SUV and hit the trailer hitch right in the center of the hood. It bent the big aluminum I-beam and hit the radiator. the radiator had a leak. otherwise, i did not see any other damage. The air bags did not deploy. But the car would not start. It just gives this ERROR thing. I tried disconnecting the battery to try and reset the computer but I still get the ERROR when I turn on the ignition.
I am still deliberating on whether to bring it to the Toyota dealer for estimates or just sell it "as is". Any ideas on what the damage could be?
    Thanks to all!

P.S. I am in northern CA, east bay area, Concord. Any suggestions on other shops that work on Prius'es?

Well, if you have AAA Platinum service, that will get you 100 miles of free towing, flatbedding to the shop of your choice. A radiator can be replaced, the hood, and the strut can be fixed..Maybe 3k? first cost guess.
The error code probably is a "Engine Coolant Low" warning, just a guess there!
Do you really want to get rid of the old girl??? What woud you get to replace her?
A 2010 model perhaps. Maybe fix it up, trade it in on a newer one.

I woud not be putting a bullet in her block, before checking with the Doc!

Theres no engine coolant low code, the problem lies somewhere else, do you have picture of the damage? I suggest you triple check the mass airflow sensors and air intake system, check for codes, get a OBD 2 reader ( 01-03 prius is OBD )
