Hellooo - can anyone else in Oklahoma hear me...?? I still haven't seen a wild Prius in the Sooner state and would love to hear from some other nearby-ish owners.

    Lonely,

Hi there in Oklahoma. I've too have been looking around for another Prius on the road in Oklahoma but haven't seen you. I am in Oklahoma City, where are you?

There is an electric-vehicle technology center here, and I took my car in to let it be used to teach bodyshop repairmen what to look for in a hybrid, and to have it photographed to use in slide shows to take around to fire departments for emergency responders to know what to look for at accident sites. It made me proud, but I also got to see the all-electric and hybrid models they have in their garage. It helped me a lot to learn about my own new car.

I'd be glad to hear from you,
    Ellen

Hey Ellen! I've been out of town - so sorry for the late response. I'm in Tulsa. I drive a Driftwood 9 and have yet to see another 2004 Prius.

Neato about your Prius being the subject of the technology seminar--it's a star. Is your car getting as much attention from other drivers as mine is?

Beth. Good to hear from you. Yes -- lots of attention. People start conversations with me in parking lots, asking how I like it, is it expensive, what is the mileage, etc.

I put in my order for it as soon as I heard about it, and I got to pick it up the last week of October, so I have been driving it five months now. I took it to the Ozarks in November to try out mountain driving (it was great), and now I am experimenting to see if I can break 50 mpg on a tank of gas. (Last 2 tanks averaged 47 mpg). That means no aggressive driving, but that can only be good! I am also more aware of those Oklahoma hills now.

What kind of mileage are you getting?

Techo. It's good to hear from someone in the neighborhood.

I have finally begun to see Prius around. I saw another silver one with Oklahoma tags in OKC a few weeks ago, and on a trip to San Francisco, I saw five in a few days. Perhaps there are some out there after all.

How long have you had your car?
