My Prius won't start! It looks like I drained the auxiliary battery because I inadvertently left the rear hatch door ajar for two days. I can neither open nor completely shut the rear door now. I've read the manual about jump starting the Prius via the jump starting terminal, but my question is....because I have the Hymotion L5, what should I do other than unplug it from the wall? Would it be better to recharge the auxiliary battery (it shows a charge of 7 volts on the ScanGauge) or jump start the engine? Thanks for your help!!

Use a donor car to start the Prius. Just don't start the donor car. You should be able to turn the Prius. Since your battery is at 7v I would say its completely dead. You might want to replace it ASAP. I doubt you will be able to recharge it.

I was afraid of that (the bad 12v battery), since I do get error beeps sometimes. But, don't start the "donor" car when jumping?

Correct. The 12v battery does NOT crank the engine in anyway, so you don't need the current that a running alternator (read: started car) supplements.

A note of warning: Do NOT reverse the polarities when connecting the battery. You CAN totally !$!@%! up your car.
