Delv, Proc, & Hndlg ----------- $23,995.00 Subtotal Adding on a dealer fee of ~$600, 7% sales tax, and $23 title fee my drive away total quote is $26,338.58. I live in Southern California...I am being quoted $5,000 above sticker price. Now, this is just absurd! All I want is the P2 (the basic package) I am just a simple gal trying to get a Hybrid, but $28K is ridiculous! I hope to find other dealers around the end of the month that are willing to negotiate, at least to not make ANY markup. I loooooooove the Prius, but cannot afford to get it for this much more. If someone knows of a place around So Cal (I live close to the North Hollywood dealer) please let me know. I do NOT, and will not pay 5k more...psssssh
If you are going to be a "simple girl" in so cal you need to be wise up be resourceful. Start by reading this very same thread. Dianne in Manhattan Beach is selling at MSRP. Find her info below. Simple guy here wanting even lower than that... if not ill see Dianne. (plus post the name of the $5K+ dealer so we can all STAY AWAY from) We have 23 cars coming initially... and I do have deposits for 7 of these personally, and adding more daily. I've been able to do a few trades with others (out of state too!) to get unique cars for some of my clients here at our port. We have lots of II's and III's and IV's available still. A couple V's also. But, this is a car that's got a planned long path for Toyota... they even quit building hybrid Highlander and hybrid Camrys till later in the fall to make sure there were enough hybrid batteries and components to go around. If you're wanting to make sure you have a car soon, and have exactly what you want on it, just whistle. I'm here 6 days a week and at the other end of my cel 7 days a week! If you don't mind me asking, did you ever get under MSRP? And if you did, which dealer was it from? Did they still tack on the delaer fees?
San Diego, CA area. Paid MSRP for a 2010 Prius V w/ATP. No markup and no dealer installs. Dealer did gave me a full tank of gasoline which was included in the MSRP price.
What's your salesperson's contact information? Google shows 3 Lithia Toyota dealerships in Oregon. For Washington state residents - Most people know there's a sales tax exemption which expires 8/1/2009, but did you also know that there's a use tax exemption as well that most likely expires on the same date? Look for this at the Dept of Revenue's Web site: sn_08_GreenVechicleExmpt.pdf
San Diego CA area. Paid MSRP, no fees, no markup. A fair deal since the demand is high for a 2010 Prius in this area.
Went to my Dealer today in LI, Was told a car coming in could be mine for $30,850. Not sure if its a Version 4 or 5 and that they would give me $11,000 for my 2006 Loaded Nav Mint Prius w/36000 mi. Bottom line was my car and $26,000 DUHHHHHHHH????Oh yes and loan was at 8% Am I missing something? or is Stupid on my forehead.

A week ago it was MSRP period. Today my local dealer offered $250 off MSRP with no dealer add-ons whatsoever. It's early and they're already starting to give a little. He gave me all the spiel about high demand last summer, low production from Toyota this year, higher gas prices, etc. - I listened politely but I've heard it all before and the odds are clearly in my favor IMO if I wait a little. Somewhere closer to $1000 off MSRP and we'll have a deal. The dance begins...patience.
Do the whole emailing out to a bunch of dealers. there is a nice procedure written on the insightcentral.net on how to get a great deal via email. post by pysci
Oh I will, but that will work a lot better when there are Prius on all their lots...patience. I have won this little battle many times.
In Indianapolis I paid MSRP with no add ons. I went to 3 different dealers and they were the same. The big difference among the dealers was my 2007 Prius trade value.
