    This car is 2 weeks old, with only 2000 miles. I have just lost my job and can no longer afford the payment. I am just looking to recover what I owe. MSRP is $22,621 plus $50.00 document fee plus the platinum Toyota Extra Care for $1120.00 plus sales tax of $1261.00 for a total of $25052.00. Please e-mail me at [email protected] if interested. This car is available immediately and I will even consider driving the car to your location.

    No one at all is interested in a brand new Prius at cost? What is the deal here? Does anyone know of anywhere else I might try to sell this car?

    I don't know where you are located, but there are several things that you should take into consideration:

    Put it on EBAY, maybe you'll get lucky.

    Well there are a few things that everyone should consider here. #1 I would like to get my money back, but will entertain serious offers. #2 I can still cancel the Platinum Warrenty if you do not want it, reducing the price by $1120.00. #3 the $2000.00 clean fuel federal deduction does not correlate to $2000.00 off your taxes, just a reduction of gross income by $2000.00. Using the tax scales you will reduce your tax burden by about $300.00 for those in the 15% bracket and $550.00 for those in the 28% bracket.

    As a person who is planning to buy a Prius in the near future, and as someone who's considering used vs. new, let me give you how I would value this.

    Assuming no shipping costs, and that I'd be interested specifically in a package 2, here's how I'd value it (right or wrong):
    base price - about #21,500
    package 2 - $900
    warranty - $1000
    floor mats - basically $0
    less tax deduction - $600
    less depreciation ($0.25/mile) - $500

    $22,300 - then I'd want a little bit more of a discount than that since I'm buying a used car from a private party, let's call it $21,500 or $22,000 even.

    Without a price in this range, I'd probably buy a new one.

    Good luck though, I know how tough it is getting laid off.

    $22671 Package #2. I have dropped the extended warrenty and all I am asking is MSRP for the vehicle, which now has just over 3000 miles on it.
