Bought my 2010 Prius II on May 30th. Dealer told me I was 13th on the list and said car should arrive in 4-6 weeks. Should I trust him? I chatted with a Toyota specialist via their website and said custom orders would take 3-6 MONTHS! Any ideas on when I should get it? (In southern NYS)

    Cheers!

Well, I have been waiting a month now. I just got a call from my dealer today who said they just go their allocation list and they are allocated 8 cars, all due in on June 17th. I've been number 1 on the dealer's list to get a 2010 Prius. So far they've only gotten 1 in, a package III with navigation and I passed on it since I do not want the navigation. That's just my personal experience, and I'm in the southeast (Atlanta). Some people on PriusChat are saying they have dealers with cars sitting on the lot now. Other people are saying different things, just depending on their geographic location.

    Good luck,
    Jonathan

I doubt that they have ordered you a Custom Prius. They will allocate or find you one that's already built to your specs.
Toyota really doesn't do custom orders per se'.
If you want something they don't make like a Prius V with no Nav but has the ATP options that they would have to build.
What is it you are looking for?

Thanks for the response. I ordered the most basic version: Prius II just with floor mats. Didn't need the navigation system/ camera and other things. Since my order is so simple, think it will arrive sooner?

    Cheers.

I'm wondering about wait times, too.
My dealer in the Twin Cities said that I was about #70 on their list, (put deposit down about 1 month ago) and my salesperson (who is really great) won't even estimate the timing for me. I'm looking forward to a Prius III, blizzard Pearl with Navigation. Good luck (and patience, too) all!

Interesting that no dealer is saying the same thing. I was never on a list. I called this week and a dealer located me one "not sold" that was supposed to arrive today in LA. They called today and said the car will be there on 6/15? I have a deposit on it, but am now concerned they will ask over MSRP for it? Another dealer here told me today that they will only sell them at MSRP and not charge over it, and they could allocate me one within 4 weeks? Not sure what to do? Take the sure thing and pay more or wait for something not so sure?

Yes I do. Remember the Port has to install things. The floormats just get thrown in the trunk. The dealer takes them out of the plastic and installs the front hooks.
I was the first in New England and I had a Prius II. I think the port added options will take time. I haven't heard of any IV's or V's being delivered in New England yet just II's and III's.
The only way to make this car better is to put in the 2.5 ratio steering rack. It already has more gadgets than my Ratchet & Clank video game. :D

My dealer is getting one of those in. I don't think it has Nav tho.
Save the money on the built in Nav and get this instead.

    http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B001N2MUD4/ref=ord_cart_shr?%5Fencoding=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&v=glance

This is a true voice recognition unit for $420!

This is the best Nav you can buy right now.
Why spend $1,800 for a built in that needs $200 CD's every year?
    Just a thought. ;)

I just picked up my P III from Avondale Toyota yesterday. I paid MSRP plus a few add-ons totalling $349. Feel free to PM and I'd be happy to share my Prius "hunting" experience with you.
