I just saw the Saturn ad featuring an young man ( late teens early 20's) who was expounding on a friend of his that had a high milage car (hybrid) who got passed by Mopeds! Then shows him blazing off in his Saturn at full throttle. I can not believe GM. They keep going from bad to worse. I guess it works I still am seeing new Suburbans, Pickups, and Hummers with temporary plates. I guess since gas has stabilized at 2.459 they think that it will start going down soon again to .75 a gallon.

Hence my reference to that 'damn ion' and its 'damn commercial' in a post elsewhere on this forum.

Spreading hybrid myths again. Good old GM.

Wouldn't the moped get even better mileage than a Prius? Motorcycles do, right?

Maybe GM is about to introduce a new line of mopeds and motorcycles.

GM? Aren't they going out of business soon?

One unfounded rumor is likely to deserve another...

Or are we talking about genetically modified cars? Wow, those people on Saturn think of everything!

How about a slogan like, "I'm helping save Earth. Mercury and Saturn are on their own"?

Actually my Motorcycle (the one in the avatar) a 1994 Honda CBR 600 F2, with only slight modifications (pipe and jet kit) only gets about 36 MPG. So I am averaging 10 MPG better in my Prius.

Currently, My 50 mpg Prius is beating the all of my motorcycle riding co-workers with respect to mileage, then again, I doubt that their riding styles are the best for maximizing fuel economy.

A few months ago when filling up, the gas station attendent asked me about my mileage. When I showed him the better than 50 mpg I achieved over the previous tank, he had to admit that even he was not getting that from his gasoline scooter.

How sad that Saturn, the anti-GM within GM, has now become absorbed and is telling the GM lies now, too?

In an alternate universe, Saturn would have led the way with a hybrid. I can only surmise that resistance was futile, and they were absorbed.

Their ION has the fuel economy of a Camry anyway and the Camry has a bigger engine and more power compared to the ION's 2.2 "ECOTEC" engine

I was disappointed too. I liked my SL2 very much and was disappointed that they discontinued it to make way for the Ion. I don't like how they designed the dash.

I also have been very happy with my Saturn SL2. It is over 10 years old now, and it is still a trucking. I was very dissapointed when I saw the comercial my-self.

My old car was bashing my new car. How ironic.

ps- My girl finally arrived last Thursday! she is 825 pounds and 175 inches long. She's one big bundle of joy!!

That was one heck of a delivery. I glad I was not attending that one. The largest I ever delivered was 14lb 7 oz and that was way big enough.
