Hybrid System Warning Light!!!! Help!!!!

    I drove home tonight in my 2004 Prius (13500 miles), everything was fine, and then when I pulled into my driveway and came to a stop — bam — the Hybrid System Warning light pops on, the engine got loud and harsh, and I freaked out. This car has run perfectly without a hint of a problem. Well, I pulled out the manual and it said to stop the car immediately and call my deal. I will tomorrow morning.

    But can anyone tell me what might possibly have happened to my beloved Prius???

    My 2004 Prius warning light went on and the dealer discovered that I had not put on the gas cap properly.

    Only what it says on pp127 of the manual:

    "This light comes on if there is a problem in the electric motor, inverter unit, hybrid vehicle battery, etc." Contact the dealer, and take it step by step. I'm sure they'll resolve the issue. Good luck!
