Agree with Jeremiah! Servco Hawaii has yet to release any pricing or packaging information so I will continue to live vicariously through your pictures. Please keep them coming!

Okay, thanks for clarifying! 125 vehicles for 150 stores ...hmm... not a very good ratio! No wonder none of the dealers in my area are announcing yet (except for the one who said they are planning a launch event for Father's Day or thereabouts -- same one who told my friend that because of the high-demand short supply situation and their wish to better serve their local/long-term customers, they would require the $875 lifetime maintenance fee, then quickly back-pedaled after we protested).

I got a text from my dealer from Champion Toyota (in Houston):

"Just to give you a heads up, we're slated to get 10 prius this week of June 8th and we'll be the first dealer in Houston to get one! I will text you as soon as it gets in so you guys can come take a look."

Wanted to share it with people who are from Houston.

I've bought 3 Toyota hybrids in 5 years in the GST region. The first 2 had no port installed options. The last one only had what I ordered (of course GST screwed up 2 of 4, but that's another story). The last one doesn't really count, since it was in the priority program, but the first 2 were just a matter of identifying the car I wanted in the system before it got processed by GST. The dealers know what's in the system and which ones have been allocated to them before the cars get processed. They can normally tell GST not to add stuff to a car that has been allocated or traded to them, based on the customer order. The very first car being allocated to each dealer is probably intended as a demo car, and is probably not being matched to any pre-orders. GST is probably larding up every one of them. The cars coming after that should be more flexible.

I'm not saying GST doesn't try to lard up its cars to make more profit, I'm just saying it is possible to avoid the lard if you are patient and if you preorder the car to your specifications and price. I use the shotgun e-mail approach to multiple dealers, asking for quotes on my specified model and options. Could be a little difficult in this case, until more cars are actually in the system. Does sound like GST dealers now know their initial allocations (beyond the initial 1 per dealer), so anything may be possible.

that is what my dealer has told me, but again I don't trust car dealers in general by rule so my bias probably ruins some of my potential optimism. the problem I have is my 12 year old civic is showing its age and having minor issues here and there, so I know if I could wait for the initial demand surge, it should be a lot easier to find one not loaded up with all the stuff I could care less about. I just keep crossing my fingers that my civic I am driving now is going to hold up till that point...

Any news for GST...Most Regions have received two shipments of car. I think CA has received three shipments. In Gulf State Region, not one car on dealer lot that I know about. Thanks to Ggood, I will get to see the Pruis for the first time tomorrow. GST Region should re-think their game plan. They are starting to lose sales. People are going out of region to buy car. If you expect us to wait it would be good if GST could say what the plan is and what the timing of release of this product. It would also be nice if dealers could tell you what is being stored for first release. It seems that allocation is not going to be done until they have one car for each deal. Great, but that leaves customers in the dark. All other regions are updating their customer well. When I get to send in my customer feedback asking how my purchase was, I am going to ding this point, if some type of correction is not made. Maybe not a big deal but it all I know how to do. I believe GST is going to lose some more sales if they do not correct this now. You can’t keep your customers in the dark for this long. Do something! Move Forward…

    Hi everyone!
long time lurker, first time poster here.

I stopped by Toyota of Richardson (Tx) today, and they have a 2010 Prius II on the lot. It is Sandy Beach Metallic, with a $1100 package from GST that includes an upgraded security system, 'paint sealant', and extra sound deadening (undercoating?). Oh, it also has that rigid black rear bumper guard.

BTW, when I inquired about 2010 availability in late April, the salesman said that they wouldn't be getting them until December. He then asked if I wouldn't be interested in a nice discounted 2009. I was adamant that I had it on good authority (PriusChat) that they were due in the late May/early June timeframe, but he said nope - its no earlier than December.

Don't you love it when you're more knowledgeable than the salesman?

I got an email from Ron Carter salesman saying that they got their first 2010 Prius on their lot so my wife and I decided to check it out today even the dealership was closed on Sunday. Anyways, I really love the look of the 2010!! Everything looks so nice until I saw the window sticker....YIKES!!!! I took pictures from my iPhone. For a 2010 Blizzard Pearl package II prius for $29,136 .....I don't know what to say...lol

So Ron Carter is out! I'm waiting to hear from Champion.

Kinda off topic.... I was wondering if it cost extra money (such as transport or whatever) if I prefer to buy a 2010 Prius with MSRP price from another salesman from out of state?? Seems like it's the only way to go if I want to get one pretty soon.

    Welcome to the forum! :)

Knowing more than the salesman is not too hard to do, especially if you hang out in PC for very long. lol

Sterling McCall is also showing a II in stock. Looks like many of the GST dealers now have their 1st car. Now how fast will they get more cars?

Abel, when are you receiving the show/demo car? I had heard it was supposed to be coming by this weekend, but apparently it didn't arrive.

Yeah, Rockville, too. Koons in Tysons corner was expecting to receive a show car this weekend, but apparently it didn't come. I'm sure our area must be the last area to receive any Prii. :(
