I was able to easily pair my T616 with the Prius, but the phone book transfer always fails. There appears to be data transfer for nearly two minutes before a message pops up that indicates the 'transfer failed.' Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone know the total number of entries that are allowed in the Prius phonebook? Is it possible I too many entries in my T616 phonebook for a complete transfer?
    Thanks.

I just got my Prius yesterday and just about an hour ago i finally got that to work. On the prius you went to the screen to transfer the phone book, right? Then went to advanced, in the phone book on the phone. Go to "send all" and via blue tooth and it should work. It worked for me on the first time. Hopefully it will work for you. Good Luck With that.

Yes, I went through the process and used 'send all' from my T616. It appears to be sending data for nearly 2 minutes, but the Prius responds with 'transfer failed'.

Leave it to our children who were raised on computers to figure out how to do this correctly. And if you want any help don't make me look at the instruction manual. That was my daughter and yes she might have figured out your problem with transferring the phone book information. I had the same issue. Make sure you phone book data is being transferred from the phone and not transferred off the chip they put in the back of the phone. Will not transfer off the chip. Once we enter the data into the phone the old fashioned way had no problem with transferring data. Another of her suggestions was not to leave Bluetooth on the phone on unless you are in the car. Battery will need recharging sooner if you do.

I had this problem and solved it by reducing the number of entries in my phone book. Unfortunately, I do not know either the before or after count (I think the limiting factor is the number of phone numbers, not the number of contact entries). I simply went and did some long-overdue pruning of obsolete entries, and the problem went away.

I was repeatably seeing the same symptom you saw (pretty useless error message, eh?) and it went away on the next attempt.

That did it. I had too many numbers in the phone memory. Thanks for your help.

I have a SonyEricsson T610 BT phone. I have downloaded my address book from my phone to my 2004 Prius. It seems to download properly, but the end result is that names are truncated to about 9 characters.

The problem is that numbers are stored on the T610 with a suffix indicating home (/H), work (/W) or mobile (/M). So any person with multiple numbers (home, work, etc.), I find immediately merged into one number with the others lost.

Has anyone run into this and have a way out? Is there a setting I missed somewhere? It seems very odd to me (especially with long Japanese names being common) that Toyota would have truncated names to 9 charactersso I must be doing something wrong.

Lots of people have had that problem. To fix it you are going to have to make a new contact for each person. Bob H. Bob C. Bob W. Kinda like that. Each contact will be a different number with only one number with each. Then when you upload it to your Prius, the contacts will be right.
