    Norwalk, Conn. - June 16, 2009 - For the first time in four years, a new city claims the title as the worst in the U.S. for road rage.

    New York has unseated Miami as the least courteous city, according to the fourth annual In the Driver’s Seat Road Rage Survey, commissioned by AutoVantage, a leading national auto club. The Big Apple moved up from its No. 3 ranking last year to claim the distinction. Rounding out the five worst cities for road rage are Dallas/Fort Worth, Detroit, Atlanta and Minneapolis/St. Paul.

    The survey also named a new city as the most courteous. Portland, Ore., took the top spot, moving up from No. 2 last year. It was followed by Cleveland, Baltimore, Sacramento and Pittsburgh.

    The most common reason for me to get mad on the road is the presence of a driver from New Jersey.

    Great timing. I was on a 2 lane highway today and my "warning you're going over 70 warning" was going off. I was slowly edging by someone in the right lane.

    In my rearview mirror a woman was tailgating me and gesticulating wildly. When I got past the person on the right she started clapping. With both hands, and driving.

    I don't know who they bribed to put Sacramento in the top 5 of the most courteous cities... but I know this one has got to be skewed because of it.



    I'm a commuter here... hell, I was born here... somebody got paid to put Sacramento California in the top 5 of the most courteous... and that study says Cleveland is more courteous than here... GMAFB... I have kin in Ohio, and I've been in Cleveland more that I want to admit...
