glad to see that you are making the Prius your own. I'd have to see them wheels in person though to give you an honest opinion.

How about those wheels? Can you share a bit of info on the wheels (and tires)? Sizes? Cost? Handling performance? MPG hit?

    > wheels are forged Volk TE37 by Rays 17x7.5 et48 about 14-15lbs per wheel
    > tires are goodyear eagle ls2000 215/45z/17 (not the best brand for a prius - got the wheels w/ tires already and it still has about 90% life on it...so I'll just use these tires for now.....)
    > mpg hit... for now I would say 2-3 mpg.. on 35 psi on all wheels.. might do 40/38 when I get a chance to put air on it...

I forgot to ask - what kind of bolts are you using? I want to get some RAYS lugnuts for the CE28s that I'm probably going to buy.

How did you get the red/smoke tail lights? They look very nice. Did you do it or have it done?

Thanks in advance for your kind reply.

those are tail light tints.... got red and smoked tints and then cut the red tint to fit the tail light and brake light part and the smoked tint to fit the turn signal and back up light... you could do the install yourself or have a tint shop do it for you....

I got the red and smokes tints from this site...

Gray, just a heads-up for you. I ordered the CE28s two weeks ago. Was told that delivery would be mid-May. Received a call today informing me that delivery would be mid- to late- June now. Ray's would not start making the wheels until May. It seems that patience is an absolute necessity.

If you decide to order them anyway, let us know what kind of delivery date they give you.

Installing the black vinyl top must have been a pain. I'm thinking of doing this. A few questions for you:

-What size of film did you purchase? 48x____?
-Did you apply the vinyl with the shark fin antenna on the car or did you take the antenna off, wrapped the antenna separately, then put back on the car?
    -How easy/difficult was the installation?
-How long did it take to install?

    It looks absolutely amazing. :0]

    > size... I got 6 48x12s
    > antenna was removed.. I bought a black one.. has a silver pine mica antenna before the install
    > I was supposed to do the install myself but decided to have it installed on the store where I got the vinyls..... (I see that you're also from SoCal.. you could just go to stickercity in Van Nuys Blvd in Sherman Oaks)
    > it took 2 hours for the install

How are the tail-light vinyls for durability and clarity? Do they wash well? How close do you have to look to be able to tell it's a vinyl? Did you do it yourself and how hard was it to mate the red-to-smoke? Can I get away with one sheet each, or did you need two red sheets?

I've been thinking about smoking the tails...but I really like the red-smoke-red vibe.

    Thx...J

re: the tail-light tints durability.... I have taken the car to the carwash about 4 times since it was installed.. so far no problems yet..... with regards to clarity... it seems ok....

at a distance you won't notice that those are tints but about 1-3 feet you'll be able to tell that they are tints......

with regards to the sheets the tint guy that installed it divided the tints into 3 (2 reds - for the top and bottom part and 1 smoked for the middle part)

    hope this helps....

I'm definitely diggin' the tail lights.
I like the color combination of the wheels and the body too.

    Nice job!

Great job on the mods. I have the same color Prius (2004). I've made a few mods but not to the extent that you have. The black roof really looks cool!!! What a great contrast. Good luck with it and keep us posted on any other additions!!

Car looks great, and love the color. The wheels are very nice. IMO, Volk Racing and SSR wheels are the only 2 wheel manufacturers that actually market towards the Hybrid market.
