They were asking 4k over MSRP but I would never pay it and I did not.

I'll second that. I did a test drive at North Hollywood as the dealer is right near me and it would have been super convenient, but they quoted me $5k premium over MSRP. When I said there were other dealers selling at MSRP I got a reply saying the other dealers would just keep you hanging, and that I should either pay the $$$$ or wait up to a year for the demand to fade and then pay sticker. They also reminded me that I was in LA and I get what I pay for.

So I contacted Dianne, she was able to get me the exact model and color I was looking for (Blue III + Solar) at MSRP, car to arrive in a couple of weeks. Thanks for all the posters on this forum who recommended Dianne, and thanks to Dianne for her outstanding service.

2010 Prius III with navigation, carpet floor mats and rear bumper applique in sandy beach metallic.

Total price......... $24,600 which is $1200 off MSRP!

Take the Oregon tax credit worth $1500, the price now comes closer to $23,000. Not too shabby............

Price was a cash deal.............no finance.

    Total price= $27619
base was 26,600 +$750 destination fee, with $200 matts and $69 rear bumber applique. I was so excited I didnt' even argue over those small add ons cause I WILL use them. :)

I'm happy. Also, they tinted my windows before I picked it up and only charged me $150 (which I thought was very fair) and they bought us dinner since we came in late after hour drive.

VERY Impressed with Toyota of Yakima.

Fitzmall is advertising they have 30 and they are showing a $500 discount from MSRP on most of them

Seriously, what do you get with an LA Prius for over MSRP that I don't get on my Prius with a discount on MSRP?

    ... fries with that?
    :p
No seriously, he had it all wrong.
HE gets what YOU pay for.
(Added markup to the cars obviously gets shared between the house and the salesman. It's part of their commission, so they have a larger stake in anyone who's agreed to buy for over MSRP. That's why they fight for the markup).

Has California adopted the Iranian system of reporting news. California, if you can hear me don't pay over MSRP. Go East, North or South, or maybe just another dealer (like Dianne) and you can find better deals. The rest of the world is watching. Don't screw this up.
