    I'm new here. I just got an '09 Prius and I LOVE it. The only thing I don't like about it is the wheels. Can I change the wheels out to something a little more aesthetically pleasing without harming anything or would it be best to keep the factory wheels on it?

    Hello and welcome!

    Yes you can swap them out to another set of the same size if you wish. Do you have the 15" or 16" alloys? They both have a plastic cover. You can try removing them and see if you like the design better.

    If you have the 15" alloys, they are lightweight alloys so they give the best mpg.

    1. You can just remove the trimrings.

    2. Corolla or Scion wheels will fit.

    3. Watch the weight. Heavier wheels will decrease gas milage.

    There is a downside to this: The plastic covers can prevent your rims from getting scraped if you drag them onto a curb. Been there, done that. And of course I am an above average driver.

    :welcome: I have found this site very helpful over the years. I may be a bit prejudice toward the Prius but I do think it's the best hybrid around at this time.
