My 2009 owner's manual says that after adding oil, "Install the filler cap, turning it clockwise until you hear a click". Could anyone else with a 2009 (or any other year), tell me what their cap does? Mine definitely never "clicks". It's just a normal friction fit: the harder you turn it, the tighter it gets. It never clicks or slips (like the gas cap does). Thanks
My oil cap does not click and I would not expect it to. Can you pls scan the page from your owner's manual and post?
Thanks for the confirmation, Patrick. Posting may have to wait for a couple of weeks, though. Best wishes, Frank
Patrick Wong has an excellent explanation on how the oil cap works in this thread: http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-ii-...009-prius-oil-change-dummy-questions-uoa.html By the way the one-click cap is most likely meant to be the gas tank cap, not the oil cap.
