Does your 2010 solar roof vent sound like this too? Mine gives a buzz for a few seconds, then the fan runs for a few seconds.

Mine makes the same sound when there isn't enough direct sunlight to run the fan continuously. I noticed it on my car this morning while waxing it.

Hello, I am a newbie and any help would be appreciated. What does the solar roof do beside cool off the interior for 3 minutes? I haven't read too much about it.
Thank you for any help you can give.

    cute dog!

    hello and welcome to PriusChat!

The solar panel ventilation system does not have a timer (you're thinking Remote A/C). Ensure that the solar roof button is depressed then exit the car and lock the door. It will activate after 10 mins and run until there's no more solar energy (e.g. sunset). It will run intermittently as is described by a few posters here if there is still some solar energy but not enough to run the fans continuously.

An additional feature of the solar panel is the Remote A/C. This is activated by the A/C button on your key fob. Press and hold that button to activate the function. This turns on the A/C compressor and runs the A/C off the hybrid battery for up to 3 mins to further cool the interior.
