    Hi all,
Just signed up. Haven't had a change to view to many posts in here but looks like a great source of information.
I am in the stages of purchasing a 2010 Prius. Wife and I are refinancing the house and plan to take out some cash for the car. As I don't see gas prices ever coming down, the Prius makes sense. I don't really mind what I drive as long as it is dependable and all the Toys I have had (three now) have been great.
Here in Alaska, we have just one Toy dealer. Not looking forward to the process but whatever...
We plan on just the base model. We will really need a second set of rims for winter tires. The neighboor said snow tires was a must for their 09.
Any suggestions or words of wisdom?
    Thanks,
    Peter

    Alright folks,
My wife and I test drove an 010 last night as I was impressed and hooked. Now our dealer up here must not sell enough units to get decent colors. White and gray is all he has and has coming. My wife got over the Blizzard White and I really don't mind what color. There is a II on the lot with a dark gray interior. $23,170 with mats and another $200 option I can't remember. Seems right in line with the rest of the country. We are planning to offer $22,800 cash, does that seem reasonable?
    Thanks for the input,
    Peter

The invoice on the package you specified is about 21,800. Why would you want to offer a thousand above that? I know the 2010s are selling around MSRP but we buyers should come up with a number as ridiculous (ridiculously high) as the dealer begins with.

A shout-out welcome to you, Newbie, from Tennessee. You'll learn so much (as I have) from this forum and be prepared to change your driving patterns as the Prius is unlike any car before.

    Congratulations Peter,
As I also have just signed in and this is my first attempt at posting on any forum, please excuse me if I violate any rules, customs or traditions.
I completely agree with you on the price of gas and the reliability of
Toyota (after 40 some years of high maintence costs buying "Goverment Motors" products).
I have ordered a IV in Barcelona Red, which seems to be the best available color for high visibility in snow, I live on the edge of the lake Eire snow belt, and it might be a good choice for you, with the wife's approval of course

    Thanks:)
I have been following the forum for about the last year, and the advice, commentary and insight have been one of the reasons I decided to buy a 2010 prius.
I will hold off on advice and opinions until I feel I have somthing worthwhile to contribute. I will say that the membership and Prius team had already answered all the questions I had, without me asking.
