HELP HELP HELP!!!!! Prius 2010 LEAKING? Please don't say it is so. Picture included :(

    Hello All,

a few weeks ago about two days after I purchased my 2010 Prius IV, I noticed two drops of black liquid that looks like oil from the bottom front grill area. I saw this again today. (as shown in the picture) Has anyone experienced this? if so what is this liquid and what should i do?

    Thanks in advance all.

Why not go to the dealer, put it on a lift, and find out? No sense not using their expertise. Nothing should leak black liquid on a new car unless they applied a soundproofing/rust protector at the port or dealer and it's just evaporating off the hot parts. Does it have an odor, what consistency?

I remember someone else mentioning something similar to this, and it did turn out, like Jim mentioned, to be some sort of protection spray that was on the car. Either way, take it to your dealer and find out for sure.

Thank you all. I will be going to the dealer to buy some supplies so i'll make sure to ask about it. I checked the area again today and i don't see where that liquid could come from. The liquid doesn't have an odor and it has consistency like motor oil.

I can't think of any fluid in the Prius that would be black. All of them should be a red/pink color except the brake fluid which is kinda clear. even the oil would not turn black before its 5K oil change
